Rivals #6 Overall

DE
6'5" 230lbs

He's got a big list of offers from top schools, but we've offered, as well.

Are we in the mix? Got a chance?

Looking through the Rivals 250, it seems as if a very large percentage ( especially when compared to other positions ) of the DE's and DT's have LSU as one of their schools of interest. Its gotta be like 80% of them. Our reputation for great D-linemen precedes us. I hope we continue that tradition for many years to come, since, IMO, a great D-line is one of the core necessities for a championship team.

OU/Texas with OU out front

supposedly he dropped USC because of the depth chart but I haven't been able to find anything concrete to back that up, just a few blog posts

Well, LSU has been putting a lot of d-line in the NFL. Jackson is going as high as #12 on most mocks. Gotta be interesting for d-line prospects. Same could be said for receiver, look how many receivers have us on their interest list, its ridiculous...

I didn't see anything in nate's post that would indicate that he thought Jim attended UT or that Jackson was a Texas Lock (which he clearly isn't). Just that he liked Texas' chances, which some people do right now.
