Many have talked about the pgc determining whether or not we get Caleb, so does this improve, worsen, or just keep our chances about the same?

A former NFL HC of the Rams for 3 years and had a top 10 NFL offense for 7 of his 12 years as OC. It's a home run.

Literally no way of knowing at this time but he has coached several prolific QB/WR combinations in his NFL career.

We’ll see if he’s a strong recruiter but I trust O

Recruits should want to come to play for LSU, Coach O, and for a chance of a title and NFL future. Who cares about all these side coaches

Caleb Williams is now weighing his options between (mainly) Clemson, LSU, and Oklahoma. PSU is also in it, but let's just say those 3 for brevity.

Clemson- Deshaun Watson, Trevor Lawrence. National spotlight due to an awful schedule, so it's a guaranteed playoff berth. Clemson also gets good receivers, so it's almost a perfect situation for a QB.

Oklahoma- Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Jalen Hurts. What do all three have in common? They transferred to Oklahoma, they were not "developed" by Lincoln Riley. Riley is what is attracting Caleb to OU, because he's known as some QB guru, when he really is being handed great QBs on a silver platter. Is he a great offensive mind? Yes. Is he deserving of all the credit that he gets for QB development? Absolutely not.

Caleb has told me and others on multiple occasions that he's looking for a place that feels like family, is a winning team, and can get him to the next level. Those three things. The new LSU analyst hires as well as the PGC hire all have one thing in common: QB development, and a track record to show for it. Linehan is a GREAT hire for QB development and recruiting QBs, even if he doesn't want to go boots on the ground to recruit them. Not to mention, Caleb has also said that one single coach doesn't make or break his decision to commit to a school.

Home run my arse. The Cowboys offense went from 22nd in the NFL in 2018 to 1st in 2019 after they fired him

OU- 5* Rattle RSFR- Riley should be able to develop him this year
Clemson— 5* DJ U - on campus will sit behind Lawrence this year ready to go next year
LSU— Brennan unproven so far, his job to lose this year and we will know if he’s the man by the time Caleb commits , Caleb’ s job 2022 if earned
Penn St—- don’t know anything about their situation
So to me looks like a 2 horse race tween Tigers and Nlions

Positive: Culpepper, Stafford, Romo, and Prescott all had their best seasons with Linehan as coordinator when comparing their ratings and QBRs.

Oh right, they went 10-6 in 18 and only 8-8 in 19. Sent all those players to the pro bowl (dak, cooper, Zeke, Martin, smith) in 18 and has worked with the following qb/wr combos in his career. Dak won rookie of the year under linehan in 16...

Daunte Culpepper/Randy Moss
Matt Stafford/Calvin Johnson
Tomy Romo/Dez Bryant
Dak Prescott/Bryant
Prescott/Amari Cooper

Everyone gets fired in the NFL. The cowboys had one good year after him. One. If Joe Brady were to fall flat in Carolina and get canned in a couple years, does it take even the slightest shine off our national championship season or does it mean you would be against him rejoining the LSU staff? The NFL is an entirely different animal. More chefs in the kitchen. More variables to success and failure than just a coach not being good.

As a cowboys fan I never had a problem with linehan he was simply running the Jason Garrett (Les miles) offense it didnt matter who was oc by title it was clappy calling the same old tired predictable plays. Linehan is a hell of a coach and has the track record to prove it. Wasn't my first choice but we definitely could have done a lot worse. I trust what coach O is doing everyone else should too he's earned that right

FYI this past yr they brought in Jon Kitna to coach QBs who really improved Dak's mechanics. Whose to say that wasn't a big part of the offense having more success than previous years?

He is a super experienced offensive coach. Overall he has been a very good offensive coordinator at the NFL level. He was also a passing game coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys before stepping up to the OC level. Hence, if his very established track record in the NFL is a selling point, then my guess is that he will be very good at helping LSU to attract top-quality offensive recruits. As he probably has forgotten more about offense than still wet behind the ears Joe Brady knows.
