There was no logical reason to keep players tied to a school. The portal should have always existed.
Scholarships are year to year and are NEVER guaranteed to roll over. Anyone who doesn’t see that the portal should have always been a thing does so for selfish reason.

After watching their performance (or lack there of) this year, would any of them even be missed? While I’m not saying it was all on the players, let’s not pretend many of them even played to basic skill levels this year.

I wasn’t referring exclusively to the portal. I think coupled with the farce that is NIL, it’s turned college football into something it was never supposed to be.
It is what it is now. I’m not complaining just calling it what it is. It’s no longer college athletics. It’s pro sports with less money involved
ETA: NIL is so openly misused. By definition, what’s happening is illegal. It was supposed to be you can get compensated after you get to campus through endorsements and such. What’s happened is pay for play. In no way can you tell me this is good for the game. I know it’s happened to some extent forever and that’s one thing but at least there were some boundaries. Now it’s a free for all.

Throw in, that he has to RUN HIS MOUTH ON EVERY FREAKING PLAY, that's not a BK MODEL ATHLETE, last year w the way he performed, sure you can get away
