We have much more pressing needs at all the secondary positions especially if some leave early. If Garner, Brooks and Ward leave we probably will need 3 cb, 1 Nickel, and 2 Safety's. Davis is to slow to ever see the field at safety maybe he can be your 3rd team linebacker.

We need CB’s, Dline, Oline and LB in the portal. It’ll take another year or 2 to get this roster back to where it needs to be. O truly destroyed this roster.
CB: LSU needs at least one guy that is a legit starter in the portal regardless if we can keep Austin and get Toviano or not.

DL: Let's get one of those 5 stars that will surely be leaving TAMU

OL: This is the one position you listed that I'm okay with not grabbing a transfer. I think with better coaching, we can provide good depth with what we have. The top 6 are locked in.

LB: At least 1 starter in the portal. We need at least one legit starter with Perkins. Maybe Penn will step up, but that is far from a sure thing.

Penn is the second leading tackler on the team. He has stepped up.

What is y'all's fascination with line backers? We play with only two on the field 90 percent of the time.

The skill set of a modern LB that doesn’t come off the field is hard to find.

I’m a firm believer in mutating down from secondary. Whether it’s because of size or skill or both.

Big CB—-> Safety
Big safety—-> LB
Big LB—-> edge/DL

So a guy like Kylin Jackson would be a prime LB prospect to me. He already has the mindset & physicality

I agree. Guys like Jamal Adams and Jacoby Stevens would be more LB hybrids than safeties in todays CFB.

Harvey Broussard just sounds like an LSU Tiger.

Yeah, I think it’s an overreaction. Left and right tackles will be sophomores. West should be ready to battle/takeover the center spot. Lots of guys on the roster for guards. We need DT and linebackers.

Yes!!! This this this. But we also need Maason Smith to come back and wreck O'lines by stuffing two of them 2 yards in the backfield, like he was doing to FSU those first plays.

DT has no graduating players this offseason. I guess Roy could go pro but how is it any thinner than this year lol

Right.

And all you have left is perkins, penn, and tolan.

and Jones and Weeks. Unless someone enters the portal, all linebackers return.

Doesn't mean we don't need more, but your post is incorrect.

I meant all the player you have left that can actually play.

Mike jones should never see the field.

and Kolbe Fields.

Matt House staying is probably the most important factor in their development. These guys learning different schemes in multiple years isn’t ideal.

There have been rumors (from Iota and others) about LSU having their sights set on some big time transfers, including a couple of freshmen at A&M.

Obviously there are contact rules there so we won't hear much until after the season.

"I left him off, because I don't think he's that good" is not a good way to discuss players, depth, returning players, etc.

I don't disagree, however.

I think they will address this issue through the portal, though.

Doubt they want to depend on freshmen, as they likely need immediate starters.

Agreed. What other linebackers are we in for right now, if anybody has insight?

I was listing the players i think will actually have a chance to start.

They will for sure be hitting the portal all over the entire defense.

Not that hard to see. Going to be the same thing as this past class.

making plays though. Perkins ties his tackles and doesn't play anywhere near the amount of snaps Penn does. Perkins has more QB hurries, 1.5 sacks to zero for Penn, an int and he should have a forced fumble on Richardson.
