Shea's dad is the most crazy/psycho/no integrity parent I've ever seen. He's pimped Shea and Sean Jr out to the fullest extent. He doesn't have a penny to his name. Shea's a good kid. He DID NOT want to go to IMG. He wanted to go for the 3 peat with his buddies. This has been rumored for 8 months. What makes me mad is that they waited until now to do it. Mr Patterson tried to leverage $ by threatening to leave and he didn't get it.

Hopefully everyone keeps this in mind. I've heard nothing but praise over him and his personality. I wish him luck at IMG.

Would love to hear the other stories with his father. I've heard several rumors.

I blame Red for Shea's fathers insolence.

Both will be successful college QBs. I think Shea is much better suited in Freeze's system though and Franks in ours.
I think this is the long and short of it in the end. Not that LSU has it's pick between the two, but the same thought process is probably a factor in how the two were recruited.

It's Cam's job to take it from selection through recruitment on through to the development (and CLM's job to make sure he's working in that direction). I have high hopes here. Let's see where it goes.

Todd Marinovich anyone? For Shea's sake I hope that's a really bad comparison.

Here is the funny part...all of you who are talking crap about this kid will cry a river if Ole Miss beat the Brakes off of LSU with Shea as their starting QB!

Is that unusual? Yes, well be bitching if we lose to Ole Miss. How do you know how to use a computer with that pea brain of yours?

Red IS Shea's dad. You don't have to cover for him any more Jimmy.

Here's my thing. If he's being paid to go to IMG, then was he paid to go to Calvary? What exactly is at IMG that Calvary couldn't provide?

thought so too, but evidently he got kicked out of school.

Not kicked out, I heard he was pushed out. Saw it somewhere ia few weeks back and now just saw somebody on SEC Recruiting board say similar.

The reason they left is that they didn't get the $. Mr Patterson tried to get it every which way he could and it didn't happen. IMG is a status thing for them plus he'll get "better coaching". Shea knew Calvarys offense perfectly and rarely had a hand laid on him in most games. He would have put up gaudy stats and probably played for another championship. There's no where to go but down at IMG.

No question, Shea. I hate to say it. But I've watched the kid and he's as polished as you can be at that age. He's gonna do well at OM.

He'd get beat out 2 years down the road in a pro style system by Franks. He just doesn't have the pure physical gifts that Franks has. He has very limited upside so when he is ready to contribute to our offense, he won't have the advantage anymore of being more polished.

His dad told Calvary Baptist if they didn't get him a job making real money he was going to put Shea in IMG.

I know this from someone who was there when he told them. (COACHING STAFF AT CB)

The dad is a pimp. But all indications are that the boys are good young men.

Take it for what it's worth. If someone offered the dad a job making 125K a year in BR, Shea would be heading to LSU. If LSU would have offered his brother a coaching job that paid, Shea would be heading to LSU. LSU and MILES were not going to be extorted by the dad and must feel pretty confident in what FIlipe Franks so they said.....SEE YA.

This has all the writing of another Cam Newton fiasco.

Before we get too far down the road with all this "woman scorned" indignation ( apologies to feminists, but that's pretty close) , remember that we played this game insofar as the brother was concerned and pushed hard for a commitment from this kid.
Are any posters saying we didn't try to placate his dad at that time?
Perhaps others were willing to go where we wouldn't go, but we fished these waters, too....

So in a few years it'll be that Shea had no idea what was going on and his Dad was the one asking for money and will be banned from Ole Miss games... I see
