From what I hears it wasn't Trent who convinced O'Bryant but his AAU teammates Stringer and Courtney. Also JOB likes the fact LSU puts bigs in the NBA (Shaq, Stromile, big Baby, Tyrus Thomas)

I don't think Trent can attract top level SEC talent on his own.

So a coach shouldn't use the current players or the program's history to attract players?

All those quotes from JOB about how much he like our coaches were BS?

That's dumb, even for a Bulldog.

True and he needs alot more help than just O'Bryant. If he is still losing to Nichols and North Texas this coming year he will be on the way out! Dont think that will help his recruiting!

Rivals usually posts the complete gpa. Does anyone knwo what his core GPA is? A 20 on the ACT gives a lot of wriggle room.

Shawn Long was a VERY good high school basketball player...however, he has no business playing in the SEC. He doesn't have good feet, he isn't all that athletic, and I didn't think he had good post moves..All I really saw was a taller guy getting rebounds and putting them back up..He was bigger than the rest of the kids he played against...I saw him play multiple times against players smaller than him that were more physical than him and he really struggled...I think he would be a really good fit for a Nicholls, UL Lafayette, Tulane type...Trust me, LSU isn't recruiting this kid for a reason..

This is why we plan on redshirting him this year and let him practice against Renardo Sidney, Arnett Moultrie, and Wendell Lewis. He isn't expected to step in and contribute immediately. I think redshirting will benefit him greatly.

Regardless if you redshirt him or not, two big stretches for an SEC team in one class isn't a good thing.

Do you realize we have the 11th best recruiting class in the country not even counting Long.

Every team needs role players and that is what Long will be.

I think I saw somewhere that someone said he is 6'10...He's 6'8...too small to guard a good post player and too slow to guard a good forward.

LSU can't take a chance on project post guys in this class, definitely need immediate impact players down low in this class. Hopefully in a few years we get to the point where we can take guys who can redshirt and come along slowly.

You sure are hating a lot on Long. His team must have beat yours this season.

Rodney Hood is a great guy from your class and the PG is too. The rest I'm not impressed with. All I'm saying is I wouldn't be satisfied taking two projects in one class.

This coming from a Bama fan. You guys signed a 7 foot project last year from Europe. He was TURRIBLE

Both of the kids we signed didnt get much pub because they Didnt play much AAU ball.

As for our class you forgot to mention our 4 star recruit and first team Parade All-American DJ Gardner a 6'6" SG

And yet his resume is more impressive than Rick Stansbury.
