- Passing on CM, DS, and Byrd
leave huge holes and inexperience
for those positions in 2010.

There are 115 other teams in the country that wish they had the kind of "holes" at those positions that we'll have.

quote:

Hicks = huge bust. You obviously aren't very in tune with what is really going on with our D-line.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had spent that much time around our team. Or do you just read what's written on our rivals site and then pretend to be in the know? To say Hicks is a huge bust after 2 games, well you already know what I think about you.

quote:

Michael Ford (who will have 0 game experience when we open with UNC)

quote:

Now throw CM in there, a 5 star recruit with a year in the system. All of a sudden, that gives you a little security in the backfield for next year.

So...Michael Ford = Zero game experience, but CM would have gotten more? We also have Steven Ridley, Drayton Calhoun, and a number of skilled athletes who are more than capable of running with a football after it's handed to them. Again, 115 other schools wish they had the kind of RB "problem" we'll have next year.

Anybody can sit back and cast stones at any other team in the country for passing on guys that turned out to be players. It happens. Is Texas screwed for passing on Dez Bryant? Is Florida screwed because they didn't really go after Patrick Peterson?

Randle who has yet to catch a ball.

A stat that hasn't hurt us. We also know that he doesn't know what to do on every play yet.

RJ Jackson had one game so lets not crown him just yet.

I'm not crowning him, but he's always been a good athlete. He got injured and is finally back healthy. Some players on the team say he's the best overall athlete on the team. He'll be solid if we need him.
quote:

Chris Mitchell who has been a disappointment.

He hasn't really had a chance. He was wide open in the endzone and JJ overthrew him on a deep pass. People would have considered Mitchell's season a success so far if he had caught that.

Well it didn't help Demarius Johnson.

Damaris Johnson would of been a great replacement for Trindon Holliday...

But I'm glad he went to Tulsa where he's been utilized in every which way all the time...and started doing that as a true freshman.

Once again if he's dying to come to LSU why did he NEVER make it to campus for an eval?

Have we offered any instate kids that didn't make it it for camp under Miles?

So now you have to come to LSU camp to get an offer? No wonder USC and Florida have been winning the recruiting battle. The kid didn't have a ride according to my sources. Maybe they should actually care what someone does on a football field instead of at a camp.

Stay on topic. Not everyone gets an offer that doesn't attend a camp or come to the school itself to talk with coaches so why did he never come if he's supposedly dying to come to LSU?

Dexter Blackmon never would of got an offer more than likely if he didn't attend a camp here. He took the initiative and put himself out there to the coaches. Byran did not.

That's not the point. You are saying he is our number 2nd option next year so we will be fine. I am saying he hasn't proven anything yet, so it is kind of scary going into 2010 with one prove WR.

if you are from LA, you should have to.

Yeah, it has nothing to do with the state they are in. It's all about offering kids sight unseen.

This is probably the most dense post you have ever made JJ.

Because he was a fricking nobody who no one had ever heard of before. Jones is a fricking 4 star with offers from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Auburn.

I guess Blackmon's coach is better than Jones because he packed him up and brought him to camp. Jones was stuck. Good reason to not offer him.

He would have been better served by actually coming to camp. He had two opportunities.

I believe the staff also has a responsibility to seek out talent, but Jones also could have helped himself.

At the beginning of 2007, LSU had only one proven WR (Doucet).

I think that season turned out ok.

NO, not everyone HAS to come to camp to get an offer but MANY folks do and that's how they get noticed.

So once again I'll ask why, if Byran Jones is DYING to come to LSU, risk it so much and ignore even coming to the school the entire summer when coaches were handing out offers like hotcakes? Wasn't he supposed to come 2 or 3 times and never came? It's his own fault.

And please stop with this we're hurting in recruiting bullshite. We have the #2 class in the nation right now. Stop whining Rantard.

I know last year someone from the board had to drive Bennie Logan to camp last year because his family/coaches couldn't or wouldn't. Some of these kids from poor rural areas don't have access to thing you and I take from granted.

I don't know if that is the case for Jones.

Oh I left out Simon at receiver too.

Then you look at next year with Landry, Lewis, possibly flowers, sylvie

You calling me a rantard... That's good stuff, I like it. Jones will be a monster while Blackmon chills with Rocky D on the sidelines.

So you wouldn't want another 6'4" athletic kic with good hands who likely would have been our third WR this year on the roster?

shite is it so hard to admit we could have used Laron Byrd?
