I am just saying Florida isn’t selling them on anything. they’re buying them.

our offensive coaches are offering money and development which is why we are recruiting well on offense.

Defense is jsut offering money and if that’s all we’re offering we’re gonna get outbid.

AND they are starting to lose them. Have you noticed this? You can’t make an argument based on UF if it doesn’t take the full story into context.

That is my biggest complaint about the bitching on this board. We all know there are issues, but just take all of the fricking facts that are in front of your faces into account. How difficult is that to do?

BK is bathing in money right now. Defensive recruiting will continue to match their coaching, really, really bad

LSU graduate. So is my wife and all my children.

Season ticket holder for over 30 years.

I've been following football recruiting since probably before you were born.

They have money for NIL. Underwood wouldn’t be #1 on our list if we couldn’t do 500K a year for him because that’s what it will take.

People act like players just started getting paid. It’s been going on forever. It’s just more open now and more players are getting money. Those top 5 classes Saban and Miles signed didn’t happen without $$$.

People keep saying this and yes, it's technically true, but players weren't getting much beyond a vehicle, perhaps a cush no-show summer job and some $1k handshakes from local businessmen.

Even the rumored $200k that Cam Newton supposedly got was beyond belief (and unproven).

Looking at it logically, it's nearly impossible to funnel that type of cash without alerting the IRS. Yet we are supposed to believe that players were getting 6-figures and up under the table? bullshite. Not saying there weren't a few exceptions, but that was not a regular occurrence.

Plus, some very wealthy alumni are not the types to break rules.

Now that it's legal, legitimate business and alums that did not want to violate the rules can get in the game, which makes it a completely different animal.

Ha I highly doubt it. Otherwise, you’d know college athletes have always been getting paid. Hope your kids aren’t as dumb as you are

I don’t get this logic. TBH it sounds like denial because we can’t pull in the guys that UGA and Bama can. 5 stars aren’t free. 3StarU isn’t going to beat Bama or UGA except once in a blue moon off a last second 2 point conversion.

I do know that and never said otherwise. That’s horrible logic for justifying something. Lots of shite “has always been going on” that I don’t agree with.

Regardless, past players were paid a fraction of what they are getting paid now - maybe a car, a no show job and some spending money.

This just proves that you don’t follow recruiting outside of LSU that closely. Some programs like Oregon, Miami, A&M and UF have been throwing around a lot of up front money. UGA, Bama, OSU, Michigan, to name a few, aren’t doing that.

Sure, they are paying. Anyone in the top 25 in recruiting is. But they are package deals that get paid out over 3-5 years. They can do this because of their reputations for development and competing for titles on top of the money.

I would much rather use their model than the other. Guys who come in knowing that some of that money is tied to their performance and sticking around are obviously going to be more invested in the program for their own benefit.

False. Jacoby Matthews went to A$M bc they outbid us. Everyone knows that. Colin Simmons was a silent commit to LSU but said Texas gave him a better opportunity to support his family. The CB Ricks who chose Bama at last minute wanted to go to LSU but Bama gave him more $$.

How does that, in any way, vitiate the possibility that they are the “highest bidder” and that 5 stars cost money.

All three teams have better defensive recruits than us and are sucking wind. BK needs to throw some cash around if we want a real shot at the natty in the next two years

I hate to say it but we’ve morphed from DBU to 3StarU. Downvote away, but man, it’s like LSU has given up on this.

It doesn’t. But any kid who’s willing to forego a bag up front gives you the flexibility to put terms together that can help you match a higher amount over a long period of time.

That’s probably what happened with Harold Perkins almost two years ago. It’s likely how Bryce Underwood is being handled leading up to his commitment, as well.

If you are so concerned with LSU having the same NIL money available that UGA and Bama have, are you donating to the cause? Based on the bitching and moaning on this board, many should be, but I would venture to guess that very few are.
