Running a 4.6 hasn't hurt the badger.

TM also wasn't a 5* recruit who was considered 1 of the best, if not the best, DB and overall players in the country. Smith is and was that and so people have higher expectations for someone like him. So his 4.62 time underwhelmed. Doesn't mean much though, kid can ball.

And TM ran a 4.50 at the combine...

That's different from a real football game in coverage with pads on. It's great for guys like Barton Simmons to judge players off of, but honestly it's not the be all end all of judging defensive backs.

And I'll bet savion runs better than a 4.62 when his time at the combine comes. Tyrann was rated as the number one cover corner in the nation on Rivals and a 4* player. Smith was rated so high based on his film where he makes plays on the ball and scored td after td like the badger does, not based off his coverage ability in a one on one drill or his coverage ability at a 7 on 7 camp where you can't hit or put hands on somebody. He's a press corner

Toliver didn't wow people at the opening either if I remember correctly.. Because he is a press corner

Are we talking about the same film, in which as a defensive player he scored a touchdown on every play?

I'm the one lauding his film and saying that's why he was rated so high and should be rated so high. Looks like I'm watching the badger at LSU

Sounds like we had some small wins and some big losses at the opening.

Savion loses stars
Franks falls
Patterson rises
Greedy and Fulton looked good

Lawr nice looks good but he may leave state
Devin white ran fast
Erick fowler was a beast he may flip.
Stephen Sullivan looked good now there are rumors he may flip.

And I think I heard Moses hurt his ankle not sure though.

I wouldn't say we had any real losses man. We all know Savion is a stud, and he's not gonna be on an island at LSU. Fowler sees his best fit at LSU and we'll be all over him to make sure he sticks. Sullivan isn't going anywhere, he was recruiting White to come to LSU. I wouldn't bet against Orgeron when it comes to his number one target that is right in our state, bama or no bama. And as far as Franks and Patterson goes, we know shea is great in 7 on 7s, and that's why he's great for Freeze's offense, and Franks is great in a pro style offense like the one we run. In 5 years Franks will be a totally different QB. Shea... Idk. But Cam got his guy, and I trust Cam

I just looked at a list on the SEC Rant. These people put waaaay too much stock into these no pad practices.

I agree and disagree. The stars are also for the kids themselves and their ranking matters to most of them i.e. Darrius Guice cared so you would have to think Savion cares too. Its not really about us when it comes to losing or gaining a star.

Seems these services try to find negatives to justify dropping one of ours. What about Sullivan who is looking really good. Why not bump him up to a 5? I suppose they will wait to see if Sullivan will flip before that happens.

I'm probably going to get ripped for this, but he had the worst film for a #1 rated corner I had ever seen. Not saying he is a bad player because I don't make those judgements until I see a player in person, but I was underwhelmed by his film

You have watched too much NOLA Roundballers!

Well Nick Chubb is the best RB in the SEC just look at the numbers he put up last year in less than a full season.

Im saying I brought him up, and Im talking about the recruitment of Chubb vs LF7. you just missed my point I guess. Post high school production has nothing to do with it.

My bad on the down vote, Adam. I'm on my phone and was actually trying to give you an upvote.
