Is he playing this year or next ???????

There are 13 players on scholarship now if you include Penn Johnson. Did they take his scholarship away ?

He would have to get a waiver to play this season. Otherwise he will have to sit a year like Leblanc and be eligible after the fall semester next season

Chalmette before that, he played with Mitch
He was younger and shorter then and didn’t get a lot of crucial minutes though

And for Villanova who won the title. The game has changed since the Shaq days. I'm not against trees playing, but you don't just throw one out there who can't play.

Baylor is undefeated and the #2 team in the nation. Of their 8 man rotation exactly ZERO are 6'11 or taller. Villanova is ranked #3. They don't even have a player above 6'9 on their entire roster.
Sometimes I wonder how many who make such comments have watched a basketball since 1987. The days, of Robinson, Ewing, Olajuwon, Shaq, don't exist anymore. Next you'll be bitching about LSU's lack of a fullback and pining for the days of the wishbone
LSU doesn't struggle (to the extent they do struggle) because of a lack of height. They struggle because the entire program doesn't give a shite about playing defense

Exactly, LSU is a little undersized in the post bits not because we don’t have multiple 6’10-6’11 guys. Almost nobody does anymore

Just watching LSU getting scored on at will in the low post by UF and even some by Nicholls tells you there's an issue with interior defense.
Leblanc might pan out for most teams, but you need to have an answer for teams with a dominant big. We have guys on the team that are worth a try to stop a stretch like we had against UF in the second half. I'm thinking of how LSU used Jose Vargas in 1987. He wasn't a starter but they would sub in Vargas when the other team's bigs started to rough up our small front line (6'8 Wilson, 6'6" Brown, and 6'6" Woodside). Vargas usually played just enough to push back and break the other team's momentum.
O'Neal doesn't nearly have Vargas' strength but I don't see why he couldn't be used in the same way. Same with Gray. Push back, eat fouls, stop the momentum, then resume the primary strategy with your starters. Isn't that better than watching Days picking up fouls in a futile effort to stop guys 6'10"+?

Well I guess one 6-6 guard has left and let another come on board. I'm guessing both guys are reasonably certain they will be able to play this year or it doesn't make a lot of sense to do it now.

False. You transfer now so you can practice with the team immediately and be eligible during second semester next season.
