re: Saints SB Victory = Effect on LSU Recruiting??

There might be a mild effect which would be a result of the enthusiasm and happy vibe a championship brings. But I think that this would be short lived.
... if the Superbowl were a month ago, one or two recruits who were on the fence might be a little more likely to fall on the LSU side of the fence if they were visiting LSU during the afterglow of the Saints' win... that being said, LSU really finished strong and there wasn't room for anyone else, so picking up Ferguson, Copeland, etc. were about as good as it could get.
What I'm curious to see now is how the collective mood of the Rant goes over the coming months. If message boards influence recruits (I believe it mildly does, but is not the primary consideration, unless people outright insult recruits and the kid takes it personally) then the upbeat mood here will help in that it no longer hurts.

is this a real question? I'd like to think that there aren't people this stupid.

If this had all transpired a couple of weeks before NSD then it might have. But a year from now I think it's effect will be very limited.
Do you think Reed would have switched from Au after the SB and signed with LSU had this (Saints winning the Super Bowl) happened two weeks before Signing day??? He was already on the edge of switching and this could very easily been the little bit of a push that kept him in state.
But in general I would say that it will have little effect. But sometimes a little can go a long way.

Porter was class of 2004. We straight up whiffed on him because he had just started playing football and he was raw. Dinardo got him with his Louisiana connections....Dinardo knew something Saban didn't.

Absolutely it helps. With the global positive brand recognition of Louisiana and the Saints as Super Champions, the tie-in with the rabid Saints and LSU fans, it helps in-state recruits with Louisiana pride and with out-of-state recruits that special things happen in Louisiana with football. If you can't see this, then you don't understand how brand, buzz, and tie-ins relate in the selling process.

True. After Katrina, opposing coaches were telling recruits that South Louisiana was destroyed. They even told some that Baton Rouge had been negatively affected. The national view is often still that New Orleans is a wasteland. The positive publicity for the Saints and New Orleans only makes people feel more positive about South Louisiana. If Les Miles could work out some kind of connection with Sean Payton and the Saints, that would be even better. If Tulane had a football team, they would benefit most, but since they really don't, it doesn't matter.
I'm not saying that the Saints will sway a kid to LSU or anything. I'm just saying that it is more positive than negative.
