You don’t think that we could use another SDE?

Apparently McClendon is super good. The coaches are already saying he’s the starter at one DE. Justin Thomas showed a lot of flash as a pass rusher last season, and he’s tailor-made for the 4-3 DE. Cherry is a guy they raved about last year, and Farrell has the athleticism to move between DT and DE. They also have Gaye and Fonua.

So no, I don’t think we have any issues there, or anywhere on the dline.

So what is going on with Kendall McCallum?

Never understood this one. No other good schools wanted him. He was reportedly too slow. Aranda loved him, and signed him, but he was obviously not LSU material from the moment they started practicing. We just missed on this one.

Stevens and Harris will take about 75% of the snaps at safety

If we’re playing as much two high as O says, Vincent will be used there a lot too imo

besides K’Lavon’s last few games, the D-Line pass rush can’t be much worse than it was last year.

Did you notice that the 15 teams we played had problems, too? They allow offensive linemen to hold now. You’d need Lawrence Taylor, in his NFL prime, to get a good pass rush today without blitzing. I’m not sure LT could get there with the left tackle hooking him around the neck.

False. Hampton will be a regular, and he will be our best safety.

I feel Jacoby is more of an outside linebacker going forward. He's a great SS in run situations sure but not the best in coverage.

Ha. Maybe. I’d like to give a lot of credit to our OLine who won the 2019 best OLine Award (surprisingly) and Burrow who was masterful at escaping the rush. He was pressured way more than he was sacked (from memory, not stats).

But still, your point remains. We only gave up 34 and defense got 37. 42 teams had more. Not exactly sure how good or bad that is.

15 teams averaged 3 or more per game. We averaged just under 2.5.

Mostly just listing stats. Not sure how good or bad, relatively.
