Who really knows what Les is saying to the players?

This is a point most fail to grasp. It seems to always be assumed that if Miles isn't behaving like a psychotic cuckoos nest inhabitant on the sidelines, he must be "kissing the player's azz" after a stupid penalty, blown assignment and so forth. Different coaches have different styles.

After LSU had become a perennial third tier SEC door mat during the 90's, Saban put us on the map with a BCS Championship--thank you Nick!

Sabin maybe better at building programs than keeping a program on top--only time will tell.

Miles has proven he can keep a great program at a high level--even with its clueless coach hating fan base.

It can be done, you don't have to humiliate a kid to get them to play. There's no excuse for that shite but many of you will talk tough as usual.

Bad cat, you honestly think something productive will come from the moment that picture was taken?

Being tough and doing that aren't the same thing. He could have easily grabbed him on the side line and quitely growled that he was going to string him up by the nuts if he did that again, then patted his arse and walked away.

Losing ones composure doesn't make him a badass

Maybe you're just a hippie douche that thinks too much.

Nah, I'm much too conservative to be a hippie. But OTOH it's apparent that you're an ignorant, ill-informed azzhole.

Get your panties out of a wad. If you ever reproduce, and the minute chance your kid can ball, don't send him to Saban. Problem solved.

See what I mean about the ignorant, ill-informed azzhole part? If my two kids continue to excel in FB throughout the HS level and got scholly offers from a Saban and wanted to play for him, that would be their decision to make, azzhole. Damned if I'd guilt them into going where they didn't want to if they really wanted to play for him, even though I know Saban's coaching style all too well.

You really should have a chat with some of Saban's former players. But then, you wouldn't prove yourself to be such an ignorant, ill-informed azzhole and I wouldn't have had all this fun pointing that out.

Hint to ignorant azzhole: It's why not a single time in Saban's entire 57 year old coaching career he's shown he can maintain any FB program he's built. His continual denigrating, humiliating verbally emasculating style wears thin after a few years and he starts to lose his players as they tune him out.

Think about that. In life, would you want to work harder for some a-hole that yelled and humiliated you in front of the entire staff and public??? Hell no! You'd want to kick him in the nuts and go work somewhere else.

When a player has all week and all of spring/fall training to learn this stuff, why will yelling and anger improve his play in a few minutes when you, the coach and assistant coaches, have had all this time and responsibility to prepare him for success. The anger Nick is feeling is misplaced anger at his assistants for failing to prepare their troops. You think if he did that to an assistant coach on television that Lil Nick would EVER be able to hire a quality assistant again? he's a bully to the kids, he's going to continue running off kids who committed to Bama and who don't respond well to his bullying tactics so he can get the latest and greatest and find the ones with masochistic tendencies who'll take his abuse.

A contrast in coaching style:

Communicates well with his players:

Players fear and loathe him:

I think he takes players' mistakes personal...as if they were committed strictly to embarrass him on national TV

Some of you frickers crack me up.

Almost everyone on this board was livid that Miles was not publicly chewing players asses during the Arkansas game

But when Saban does the exact same thing that you wanted Miles to do, Saban is an out of control prick and no parent should want their I'd to play for a coach like that

Personally, I prefer Miles' calm and assertive leadership to Saban's screaming in your face sideline show, but yelling at a player for making the same mistake over and over might be the only solution if you can't bench him at the time.

Saban is from the old school of screaming in your face like Bear Bryant--get use to it.

Speedy, really we all wanted Miles to lose it and look like a jackass on a routine play after he was down by 21? Right

you might want to go search threads after the Arkansas game

Yes, MANY people on here wanted Miles to go apeshit on players after that game and they were pissed off that he was putting his arm around players instead of screaming at them
