take the offer off the table

You mean he didn't pass for 600 yards and 6 TDs? While running for 3 more?
Kick him to the curb. Now. Definitely not SEC material...

one game doesn't make or break anybody. based on the stat line the victors were a much better team
but shite...12 attempts and 86 yards? damn

the stat line sounds like they were completely outmanned. To only throw 12 passes, their OL must have gotten dominated

Or they ran the ball all over the competition. What was the final score/complete stats?
Posted on 8/28/10 at 12:55 pm to Sid in Lakeshore
They lost by 3 TDs

Sounds like it's the play calling

Rivers, who has committed to play at LSU, wasn’t called upon to pass a lot Friday night.

Don't worry about the stat line- Athens played Hartselle, the #5 ranked team in class 5A. Athens offensive and defensive lines got smacked around all night. Hartselle led 21-0 at half and ran the ball to shorten the game 2nd half. Stephen had very few opportunities to throw and was under pressure when he did. Probably the toughest team on Athens schedule besides Russellville (#1 ranked team in 5A).

Is this Mile's 6th mistake at recruiting a QB?

The reports out of camp were not good either. That being said, they have all liked his potential and lineage. Normal project talk.

Everyone needs to chill out. Ely looked like shite last night too, that doesn't make them bad qbs. If I recall right, Rivers was pressured on almost every play in his junior highlights. Obviously, his OL is horrible.

I'm not too worried about it. He only threw the ball 12 times. At least he had a high completion percentage. We all knew the kid was gonna be a project. Most of the players a school recruits need work.

Hell, i say you pull Rivers' and hilliard's offers to make room for Vincent and Talton. We can't lose the Cadillac/Brown duo to ULM.
Posted on 8/31/10 at 10:36 am to robbdawgus
He is a project, let's hope we have two QBs recruited this year.
