River Parish Players

Have you guys noticed that 3 star players from the river parishes play on the same level as 5 stars players around the country? Look at Justin Jefferson compared to Chase and Marshall who were 5 stars. Remember Alfred blue who was a 3 Star as well and how he did for us. Pooka Williams as well he started as 3 star but became a 4 star and he is balling in Kansas. All I’m saying is we need to lock down the river parishes because 3 stars from there are really 5 stars!!!!

Well, anyone good coming out da river parishes this year? Who should LSU be targeting?

I’m not sure why you are comparing Jefferson to chase and marshal considering they are on pace to have better seasons than Jefferson did when he was a sophomore. 2/3 of the people you listed were lightly recruited because nobody thought they would qualify also

I remember seeing a study a few years back that said the river parishes produce more NFL players per capita than just about any other area in the country other than Miami-Dade. We definitely need to keep a close eye on this area for under the radar guys every year because they seem to usually work out well for LSU.
Lots of talent in the river parishes for sure

Leave those River Parishes alone! They need to all come to Nicholls State. Coach Rebowe knows what is down!

As an HHS (& LSU) alum, I’m a little embarrassed by the OP myself.
Yes, undeniably the RP produces above average football talent rather consistently. However, had you not compared JJ to Chase and Marshall or blanket statement comparison to 5* this may have been much more palatable.

I’m not comparing them I’m comparing there star rankings our receivers are ALL awesome and they are about to do big things. I as well am a HHS alumni and would have loved to see guys like Dawan Landry, Darius Reynaud, Pooka Williams, and most of all MARK YOUNG!!! The river parish players always get disrespected on the star rankings

I’m not Mark Young but if your a fellow HHS alumni you know that guy was amazing I think he was a 3 star as well back then

It’s because of the waaawdah

There’s no if about me being an HHS alum. But I have no clue about Mark Young, likely because I was out of the country when he was in HS. The only thing I find about him online is an aggravated battery charge when he was 18 and that he was put in the hospital by a hit in practice by Laron Landry. Nothing about a college career.

Guy was probably the best player to ever wear a Hahnville High Jersey. He is also the uncle of Damaris Johnson the Destrehan standout. He was a receiver for us. But never made it to college I don’t know why (grades maybe) but dude was a man among boys.

Uh no... that would be Laron by more than a mile. This article from the Guide doesn’t even mention him.
Golden Era of RP football players
Young may not have made college due to the aforementioned battery charge at 18 years old (but that is a total assumption on my part). And pound for pound Wilton Comardelle (SR) may like to have a conversation with you if this about greatest HHS players that never made it to college.
