We have got to land Stewart, we've got to keep landing pass rushers, and its beyond time for us to land the #1 pass rusher in high school football.

LSU is/was the leader to begin but it's going to be a long process it seems. Just need BJ and Gaye to continue to develop to show the promise to Stewart.

Mmm Georgia vs LSU. Should be a fun battle to watch although if he doesn't come here it's going to be rather annoying. Any idea as to why UGA is passing us? They just doing a better job or are we just slipping?

honestly they just do well with being close to Atlanta and have a really great recruiting budget.

Closer to home, more familiar w staff/ not a new dc, position coach possibly???? It’s still early in the process. Recall reading that CL was recruiting him hard. Hopefully the on field product in 2021 puts LSU over the top in his recruitment.

The Stewart recruitment will come down to O and Andre Carter vs frat boy Kirby and his high end recruiting budget. Does Stewart want to be developed by great coaches and a former stud nfl player or go to UGA where they celebrate recruiting titles and lack of d linemen in the league?

Opa Locka (Fla.) Monsignor Pace five-star defensive lineman Shemar Stewart also isn't planning to make a commitment anytime soon. While he maintains that he doesn't have an outright leader, those inside his camp continue to indicate that LSU and Georgia are out in front. Stewart also appears to be feeling Texas A&M a bit after a recent Zoom meeting with the Aggies, who think Stewart could be a stand-up pass rusher in their defensive system.

What is the deal with Dumervil at tackle? He was highly recruited and I haven’t even seen him once on the field even with Rosenthal having all his issues.

Bc he was a true freshman... freshman lineman, especially in the SEC, don’t normally contribute until 2nd or 3rd year

More info on Shemar from sun sentinel article today of interview over the weekend

Stewart’s primary contact on the Hurricanes’ coaching staff: Fellow Pace alum and cornerbacks coach DeMarcus Van Dyke.
“Every time he calls me, he’s like, ‘You go to Pace, and everyone who goes to Pace, comes to Miami,’” said Stewart (6 foot 5, 240 pounds) at Sunday’s Under Armour All-America camp event at Ives Estates Park. “So, you know, it’s only right.”
Miami coach Manny Diaz had an up-close look at Stewart on Sunday. Although there is an NCAA recruiting dead period in place through at least May 31, which doesn’t allow for in-person contact between prospects and college coaches, Diaz was present at Sunday’s camp because his son was participating.
“I didn’t even notice until I was doing the reps, and I was like, ‘Whoa!’” Stewart said of seeing Diaz there in UM colors.
Stewart said he feels Hurricanes coaches are personable and build relationships with prospects, as opposed to simply trying to get them to commit. His overall impression of Miami: “I like the coaches, and they have a good team.”
But he also lists LSU, Georgia, Clemson and Texas A&M among schools high on his list. The two predictions that have been submitted for him on 247 Sports have him picking LSU.
“That’s what a lot of people think,” Stewart said. “That’s because I mention them a lot.”
Stewart hopes the recruiting dead period, in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is lifted at the end of May so he can take college visits over the summer.
“It’s been tough,” he said. “I don’t really like Zooms.”
Before the lockdown, Stewart said he had been to Miami’s campus four times, but it’s now been over a year since the last instance.
One thing working against the Hurricanes: Stewart values getting the college experience away from home.
“I’ve been trying to get out of town,” he said.
Already selected to the Under Armour All-America Game, Stewart didn’t participate in 1-on-1 drills on Sunday — just some individual work.
“It helped me brush up on the fundamentals,” he said.

Man give Dumervil a chance, he was a T Freshman.I saw him on the sideline and physically I thought he looked real good. You hardly ever seeing TFs on the o line in this league. I'm glad we have him and think he'll get some time next year

Nice read. Alabama at 17 looks good for now.

Here's a one liner from an article discussing his top schools.

"I mean LSU is going to be LSU," Stewart said. "I talk to them all the time."
