good post, nice seeing recruitment from the other side of the fence, ie the high school coach's perspective.

Geez, what a bitter old man.

Don't know if he's bitter or not, but it is true for the most part.

He's right-on about this part. Salute him for this. Once you commit, stick with it. If there's a chance you'll get a better offer and leave - don't commit.

Legendary high school football coach J.T. Curtis knows a thing or two about commitment.
He has been married to the same woman -- Lydia Curtis -- since 1968; has coached at River Ridge (La.) John Curtis Christian since starting the program in 1969; and has raised his family in a house two blocks from campus since 1977.

He has also not had a single player de-commit from his college pledge -- although he can tell you about two players who were close.

That is unreal

You obviously don't know much about recruiting. What I worry about more is the guys who get offers simply because the school has other guys that the college wants to offer down the line. The kid goes off to that school thinking he has a great shot of starting or getting good PT only to realize he will be a special teams guy for 3-4 years.

Now that the story is out, I know that a few people weren't too excited about how the whole deal went down. A few people got rubbed the wrong way.

So does this mean if we do get Malikia Dupree he will not commit till NSD?

Same goes for kenny young

It doesn't mean they will commit on nsd.. I'm sure if they get the top offer they want and JT encourages it, they will pull the trigger

I read it as he won't commit until he is sure its where he wants to go, which there is really no time libe for that

Isn't that not true since Riley did it from TCU to us?

I woudldn't expect them to commit early because they will most likely want to enjoy the full recruiting process.

Or lose their spot if we fill up quick at their position? They won't wait long. That quote is exaggerated

This isn't UT. Also, don't assume that either one of those guys are really excited about going to LSU right now.

No, but this is a year where Scholarships are limited and the elite talent is plentiful

Once again, I think these two will feel perfectly fine if LSU passes up on them.
