A couple of 2023 nationally ranked QBs squared off last night. I had hoped to go to the game but got lazy since I am planning on going to the Auburn game all day Sat.

ZHS won 35-28.

From BRProud:
"Woodlawn’s Rickie Collins completed 22 of 33 passes for 283 yards and 3 touchdowns while Zachary’s Eli Holstein was 12-for-22 for 148 yards and 2 scores."

The Advocate reported that Collins 3 TDs were all short runs.

Interested to hear what others might have seen if they went.

He must be doing gd! I see his rankings are steadily climbing - up to #160 and another year to go! We need more safeties. You think he stays at that position or grow out of it?

Was at the game. Collins is a good player and a tough kid. The stats were deceiving, Zachary gave up a lot of yards late playing a soft defense and Collins took advantage of it.

From a pure QB standpoint Holstein is better. Bigger body, bigger arm. Collins can play though, put him on a team with more talent and coach him up he can be a good one.

Collins and Woodlawn beat Dutchtown 27-14 tonight. Collins threw for 1 TD and ran for another. Don't know what his final stat line was, but he didn't throw a lot because the running attack was gashing the Griffins.
