I’m pretty sure Notre Dame HS leads the country in home runs, their top 3 kids alone are pretty insane

Bergeron has 26 home runs
Savoy has 17 home runs
Poncho has 16 home runs

Damn. I figured she would be good. But, that is unreal. Her dad was a great ballplayer.

Are we getting any real great pitchers? We sure need some. I think the only one we can count on for mid week games currently on the staff is Sunseri and Kilponen is the only P we should use in SEC games. The others have proven to be not dependable. We need to get some top quality SEC pitchers to come in. The transfer portal should be very active after the season with both comings and goings

Not sure what happened with Wickersham because she was very solid her first two years and honestly was the best one at the end of last year. Hopefully they can figure it out, just doesn't seem like herself right now.

Chaffin comes in next year who's really solid.

The 2022 class (the one that signs this fall) is the one you are probably looking towards. Three of the top 5 pitchers in the country are committed, that class is legit, also the one that has Bergeron.

Its hard to begin to even imagine how things will change with the portal in terms of our roster. Every program in every sport has already started to be impacted by it this year and I expect things to pick up after the season ends for softball. We have already had some attrition with our freshmen class.

Baton Rouge area doesn't have any elite level seniors this year that could benefit LSU or UL.
Southeastern, McNeese and Nicholls continue to load up on BR area kids.

BR area

Bailey Landry was an animal. The last area player to really succeed at LSU. Not many other locals have come thru and gotten on the field.

I agree they should get on Corine Poncho from Notre Dame. Good athlete with size and speed . Could play multiple positions and hit.

She is 22 (I misplaced her) and she's a speedy slapper.

Redoutey sustained some type of significant leg injury and is out the rest of the season.

Yup, not on the team anymore.

Maci Bergeron, Baylea Brandon headline list of MaxPreps National Player of the Year candidates

quote:

OF Baylea Brandon | Leander (Texas) | Sr.
If Brandon gets pitched to (29 walks), she is deadly with the bat. The LSU commit has 18 home runs and has two or more hits in 15 games this season. The powerful lefty is a major threat on the base paths as well as with 30 stolen bases.

quote:

C Maci Bergeron | Notre Dame (Crowley, La.) | Jr.
She led the Pioneers to another state title this season after smashing a nation-best 30 home runs. The LSU commit has hit 62 career bombs. She also drove in 70 runs and has 174 RBI in just two full seasons of play.

I mentioned this in another post and as a response to Tigerbait357 but the Notre Dame team has a freshman girl who started and was the leadoff hitter. Her name is Keleigh Spell. She hit’s from the left side and is a slap hitter. She will be highly recruited as well. The whole team surpassed the national home run record this year. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her with an LSU offer when she is a junior. With Bageron and Savoy already being LSU commitments, I am sure Beth Torino is already aware of her.

Here are some of her stats on the year. I believe she was also 3 for 4 in the state championship game.

Not recruiting, but Softball....with all the complaints from Pac-12 about bias or Pac-12 disrespect that conference has gone 4-4 so far with ASU eliminated from their own regional. I do however think UW got shafted
