Cute clip of Annie! I wouldn’t mind seeing her come a year early since she’s so injury prone/training at Texas Nightmares

Anyone know if she’s bringing back the double on vault?

Two nights ago she joined a Twitter space (basically group facetime or instagram live type thing but it’s an audio call on twitter). A few people asked her which skills she hopes to bring in college. She said for sure the double arabian and plans to compete the 1.5 this weekend. She also said she’d most likely stick with the 1.5 in college but will train the double, is continuing to train the double and will compete it at trials.

I am generally skeptical of double Arabians in college due to difficulty achieving a controlled landing but Aleahs I feel is one of the few who would do well with it. Form and technique on that skill is exceptional. I figured she would do that or a full in as her opening pass on floor.

Im 90% sure she will do that 1.5 on vault in college. She's gonna get a lot of sticks and many 10's when she does. She could have higher scoring potential than Sarah with the 1.5 on vault. I felt that was the only thing holding Sarah's AA scores back. The full's max out at a 9.9 most of the time unfortunately and Sarah's full is as perfect as it gets.

Aleah opens with a 13.500 on floor but had a rough vault. Having to count a low 13 vault scored kinda completely screws your AA score.

Morgan Hurd with a somewhat impressive 10.300... on beam

Sad that she sat her Y1.5. Hopefully she’ll do better on the other events.

Having that ankle injury seemed to kinda push her back on vault (at least in the short term), her double was good for a 14.500 type score

Things going off the rails on bars for many people

Roughest meet for Aleah since her first year as an elite.

Yeah this meet has been hard to watch. So many falls. Didn’t expect this. Really haven’t seen much improvement from Classics other than Simone and Suni.

With the exception of Chiles, the olympics being pushed back seems to be doing more harm than good for the current crop of senior elites. Everyone was training to peak for last summer. Since then people are just trying to hold on as their bodies are giving out in some areas.

Totally agree with you. I’d say there are 3 locks (baring injury): Biles, Chiles, and Lee. It’s gonna be a blood bath for the final team spot. No one is sticking out as the second specialist. Not sure who really fits the bill right now.

As a nearly 40 year old fan, Chellsie made tonight worth it. Also the stuck triple double from Simone. Everyone looked much improved from Classics. Aleah will be better Sunday. Vault sounds like a fluke.

Chellsie was the highlight for me for sure. Been following her comeback on YouTube.

Random question, is Oksana Chusovitina competing at the olympics this year? If so I am pretty sure this would be her last

She is 45

I simply cannot comprehend doing gymnastics at that age but good for her. Nothing short of remarkable.

Aleah is in last place of the Gymnasts doing AA. So tough to see after her stellar classics. Don’t see her making Olympic trials anymore unless Tom F takes like everyone.

I think Tom might take nearly everyone...I read somewhere he indicated maybe close to 18. I personally think he’ll take all the “old” seniors who have had international assignments this quad and then Kayla Dicello, skye Blakey for the “new” seniors. I hope he allows Memmel to go - would
Be cool to see her do all-around. But, I think Aleah’s petition will probably be accepted, especially if she shows significant improvement on Day 2.
