There is a standard athletes have to meet within all routines. While Haleigh does the most difficult floor routine in the country. She technically didn’t meet the standards regarding the three acro series connection. It’s not a difficulty issue, it’s a routine composition requirement that wasn’t met.

Haleigh could do three E passes (hardest skills possible). She would still get hit for a deduction if she doesn’t have the 3 acro elements in a tumbling pass.

Hope that makes sense

It does, thanks. I thought maybe there were different requirements based on level of difficulty. Instead, it sounds like the basic requirements are the same for everyone regardless of difficulty.

I’d absolutely LOVE to see all the medical school degrees of all the LSU haters saying “I told you so” etc about there being contact tracing within the team. Those people are aware of what “airborne disease” means, right? Anyone who breathes oxygen has an equal chance to contract the virus and as it so happens, the girls are all within the prime age group bracket to be more likely to get and survive covid if they test positive, no matter how careful you are. I have a 20 year old friend who lives alone in a one bedroom studio apartment who got covid overnight out of the blue, after not having seen or interacted with anyone between March 2020 and November 2020. Perfect example of how the disease can reach anyone

Do we know if this was an outbreak on our end on the end of Auburn the gymternerds are saying 9 LSU gymnasts tested positive.

LSU contact tracing but the 9 positives can’t be accurate. There were many who already got the virus already before the season. Not sure where those people are getting those numbers from

It only takes a two or three positive tests to wipe out a team due to contact tracing. It’s already happening in basketball and it will happen again this gym season

Seems highly unlikely that 9 of our girls tested positive or 9 girls in general tested positive. Reminder: false positives have been a thing and continue to do so. Could be a lower number than that for all we know. Tired of the gymternet spreading rumors about our program when they don’t even have a smidgen of all the information needed to make these claims

It does get rather old. It's so funny how they talk about uplifting diversity in all of this and then they are the 1st to jump on people and be intolerant it is totally pathetic

My theory was correct, all about contact tracing, Scott just tweeted this

quote:

Just spoke to @LSUgym coach Jay Clark. He said his team not suffering from major outbreak but contact tracing issues. He's hopeful as testing goes forward this week the Auburn meet can be rescheduled for next week's open date, but that is TBD. #LSU

These are the kind of people trashing LSU

Ignore them. I hope the same people show up once their teams experience an “outbreak”

If this is all contact tracing and no one is sick, I view this week off as a good thing-it gives Dunne, Bryant and Kiya more time to heal AND potentially gives us fans a SEC Meet on a week when we would have had none.

This is frustrating - I don't get all the hate. I agree that general mask awareness may not have been great at Gym 101 (but even then, given the level of complaining across the gymternet, I was pleasantly surprised when I watched the replay). After that, though, I think they have been pretty good - but regardless LSU (and to a lesser extent, Louisiana and the South) is just something the gymternet loves to hate. I wish they would get a life and stop being mask police. Also, as other people have mentioned, the gymnasts are constantly around each other all the time and have been since late summer...so honestly, protecting them from each other is somewhat silly as they are essentially in the same "household"

My jaw is on the ground ! They don’t have a clue what these girls go through with all the testing and quarantining and giving up their life so they can compete.

the team underwent testing Tuesday and expects to get results back Wednesday. There will be another round of testing later this week. If those results don’t show any infections among the gymnasts, they would be on track to be able to compete next week under the SEC’s seven-day contact tracing window
