Is there still a chance that Bailey stays at LSU or is she definitely leaving ?
Posted on 5/23/20 at 5:43 pm to lsugymfann
Haha was going to say I think I spoke to soon. I wish her well seems like she’s has a really tough time recently so will be a good fresh start for her.

She will have a much better opportunity to compete more and break lineups.
Best of luck to her
Best of luck to her

Do we know why she left LSU?
Posted on 5/23/20 at 6:44 pm to tlricks04
She’s not discussing her reasons

What is your relationship to Bailey.... I'm just curious with your post history related to her.
You created an an account specifically relating to her status

I guess a fresh start is always good. I really hate that she was rushed into the lineups her freshman year. Then when she announced she was sitting out last year, I felt so bad for her. Poor girl has been through a lot. I wish her the best at Auburn. She’ll have a great chance of making the lineups there.
With that being said, what effect does this have on the LSU program as far as image? I know a lot of people were upset about them pulling Emma Jean’s scholarship. Now with Bailey transferring out, I can only see the heat LSU will be getting in the coming months.

My best friend has been a close friends with Bailey and her family since before bailey committed to LSU (and is basically a part of their family at this point). I’ve gotten to know Bailey and her folks fairly well over the last two years through my best friend which is why I have the grounds to say the things I’ve said about Bailey in this thread and defend her in the way that I have.

Absolutely nothing. The crazy gymternet and twitters peoples opinion means nothing.
Emma went to Arkansas because she had been out of competing for years and had not been training for a while. While LSU honors most their commits, at some point the commitment need to hold up their end of the agreement when it comes to the commitment to the sport. LSU is offering a full scholarship for these kids to go to school and compete for a top program, it goes both ways. LSU isn't obligated to hold out a scholarship offer to a kid who isn't putting in the work/time (I'm speaking in general here). It has to be earned. Honestly, even if she came to LSU, the chances of her breaking a lineup her first two years on campus would be extremely, extremely slim.
Ferrer had been through a lot but with her personal stuff. She may want a fresh start and maybe an opportunity to compete more which she probably will get at Auburn. Coming off a year without competing and with the incoming freshmen class LSU has, making multiple lineups could be very very difficult. I'm sure this wasn't an easy decision for her either. She will have the opportunity now to compete for another good program and be closer to family as well.
What will be interesting is what LSU decides to do with that scholly now. There are a couple things they could do with it.

What are the options aside from offer it to a current walk on like Edwards?

Bring in a 2021 would be the only other option unless they found a top transfer. Tori Tatum would be the only one I’d Might bring in early. Aleah I want to save until the following year, I think it’s good to have a dominant all around gymnast in each class plus she is coming off a nagging injury and wants to try for the Olympics, which likely isn’t happening but you only have that opportunity once.
Katylyn Johnson needs more time coming off multiple surgeries. She needs more time to develop and fine tune at Texas dreams. I expect her to mostly focus on vault and floor at LSU but her bars aren’t bad at all. Plus Texas dreams does a good job producing beam workers. She will at least have a nice foundation to mold when she comes to LSU.
The Least likely scenario, LSU picks up a 2021 commit that comes in early. All your elites are focused on the Olympics as of now.
I’m leaning towards LSU giving a scholarship to a walk on at this time but a couple other options are still on the table. If we stay mostly healthy, we really don’t need anyone to come in early, especially with our freshmen class coming in. If our freshmen and sophomores are intact and healthy, a lot of our holes will be addressed next year and we will be much more well rounded as a team.

I really hope Bailey does great at Auburn. She seems to be working really hard on her own. I hope there was nothing negative going on at LSU for her to leave. It just makes you wonder when someone decides to transfer.

Whoever is close to Bailey are kinda crazy about protecting her
I commented about her leaving and going to Auburn on a FB post and next thing I knew, I had a friend request from her mom.

I think it’s pretty obvious why she’s leaving

Guess I’m not in the loop....because if it was obvious to me I wouldn’t be wondering lol!

I don't want this to turn into a pissing match. Most transfers never truly reveal why they transfer, in most cases (not all but most) athletes want to compete more or have better opportunities.
LSU will be fine. I wish Bailey the best of luck at Auburn, she will be good for them. Sorry it didn't workout here.
The new recruiting thread will be up on June 1st, we will start over. Please let me know ways I can build onto these threads to make them better or more informative or if you want other type of information as well. I know I'm bad at these but I try

Yea I thought it was kinda crazy
Politely hit decline.
As far as why she’s leaving, I felt like it was pretty clear it was a matter of opportunities available. She may have only made it on 1 event next season especially considering this years and next years freshman class coupled with our upcoming senior class. I’ve gotten the vibe that she feels like she has something to prove and unfortunately that opportunity just isn’t at LSU anymore.

With that open scholly... now would be a great time to go after Rachel Dickson who is eligible to compete immediately
