She has a high level of difficulty on every event, she will contribute a lot for us. I see her stepping in on vault and floor with ease next season.

Also Lizzy Leduc still remains another possible addition.

Adding Ferrer and Leduc would be awesome, Lizzy definitely could contribute immediately on beam.

Even with the loss of Myia i still think this team will be improved next season. We add Kelley back, Edney continues to improve, LSU's freshman will likely be much improved as always. Really excited about next years team.

I wonder if we got any commits this weekend. I saw that Jeffereys (Great American Express) won the all around.Kai was on her game today. Both Kai and Haleigh would benefit from upgrading beam and Haleigh would score higher if she could change one of her front tumbling floor passes IMO. Level 10 is getting more competitive each year. Both girls have used the same routines for several years on floor and beam. They are both talented enough to handle new skills. I'm happy to hear that Bailey will be at LSU for the 2019 Season!

Jefferey will come at the Secret Classic in the coming up

Still waiting for an official announcement on a commitment from Alexis, she has been decked out in LSU apparel lately.

Supposedly we will start to take 2022's this summer. Usually by the end of may and summer we usually pick up 2-3 commitments, its coming

Is Alexis trying for Elite at the Secret classic or just coming to watch? Al took Kara, Leanne and Jafree to the classic last year to qualify. They won at JO just weeks before they made Elite. I hope Aleah can qualify this time.

Alexis already qualified to junior elite.

She will compete at the Secret Classic, and if she does well, she will compete at p&g championships

You have to qualify to elite from a separate qualifier to make Secret Classic, from there there are standards you must reach to compete for a national title

I'm confused.....Alexis Jeffery is listed as a level 10 that just won all around from GAGE. Is there another Alexis that is already Elite heading to the Secret Classic?

No, She competed as a level 10 but qualified earlier to compete as a junior elite. People can compete as level 10s then later compete at an elite meet that year, it happened with Eaker, Leanne. If she does well this year as an elite she will likely just focus on that and not compete as a level 10 any more

Looking forward to seeing Bailey in the floor lineup at LSU. She will be an asset for both floor and vault. Isn't Ray Gnat her coach this year?

I thought she had a different coach this year.

It'll be a fun summer, we've had late additions before school has started many times over the years. I still don't think Ferrer is the last to be added too. The coaches are focused on recruiting right now.

Everyone is home with their families but will be back next month for summer classes and to start to train for next season. Excited to see some of the freshman expand their roles and see some of the upgrades.

Jessie Jordan joined the team in January and was competing quickly...I don’t recall anyone else recently.

Next year really could be another very strong year. I think Florida should be improved so they will probably be favorites in the SEC. Oklahoma will still be as strong as ever and UCLA, as well. I don't think LSU will be the favorites going into Nationals but they have the talent to compete for one of those final 4 spots that will be new.

I feel like with Ferrer coming in and Kelley (hopefully) coming back, we actually fill in our holes quite well. Add in some others who didn't compete for whatever reason and we look fine. The one thing that we can't replace is Hambrick's consistency going 4 for 4 every week. That will be missed but hopefully we find the right combination of girls who can fill the holes Hambrick is leaving.

I respectfully disagree with Florida. They lose Baker, Slocum, and most importantly McMurtry. Florida has to come to LSU as well. I am still not sold on Jenny's coaching and there doesn't seem to be a clear plan on how to utilize some of their freshman's talent.

Now the issues is replacing hambrick and her consistency. Over the years we continue to see remarkable transformations between freshman to sophomore years. Look at Myia, Edney, Kelley, Finnegan. I fully expect to see the same for this freshman class. Desiderio will be a 9.95 type floor routine next season. Edwards vault will definitely improve as well. Durante just needs to be moved down the lineup but that a 9.9+ routine. Campbell the last month looked like a whole other level. I don't think people will realize how much this year with a lot of these freshman will do for this team next season. Keep in mind most of this freshman class was brutally beat up and was out the entire last year before LSU, it took them time to find their feet and it will only build up from here.

Ferrer's vault is definitely NCAA ready and will contribute immediately. Kelley will provide another nice floor score, she will train very soon actually.

I think this team actually will be improved on every event aside for beam. I will say I am a bit nervous about this event as Erin and Myia have been studs at the first 2 spots for 4 years, but as for all the other events I am more than confident.

If we do add Leduc, that takes a tremendous load off this beam lineup. But we do have kids that are more than capable of major scores on beam but they don't have the experience

I somehow thought McMurtry was a Junior.

Who does Florida have coming in, though? Seems they always have such an insane class. You are right, though, they do lose some really big scores. I just have a feeling they have girls coming in who can replace many of those.

Beam is going to be interesting, for sure. But if Desiderio and Campbell take their experience into next year then they are 9.9 worthy. Edney is solid although not as clean, but her leaps looked better than ever at Nationals. Finnegan is, of course, 9.95 easily. If Leduc came, then watch out. Another 9.9 right off the bat. Hopefully someone can step in and contribute a solid 9.8+ lead-off routine. Ferrer has bent legs on her series but if she can get consistent then she might be a decent lead off. DD likes to go with consistency.

I wonder if Kelley will be able to get back to vaulting? If she is back to throwing her difficulty on floor then I would think vault is definitely possible. But you have to wonder if you want to punish her Achilles any more than you absolutely have to. Might be best to let Kelley focus on floor this year and make sure she can handle an entire season.

Two people I am excited to see on beam is Durante and Dean

Dean had phenomenal beam sets all fall, for me it was shocking to not see her compete once. Maybe they didn't want to take chances due to back spasms.

I do think some of our beam routines need to be restructured.

Florida has Trinity, Sydney Johnson-Scharpf, Leah Clapper, and a few other level 10's on the way. Florida is essentially turning into UCLA now with every other person is a elite.

Vault we only lose Myia, I think its safe to say Ferrer will step in and help us on vault. Edwards, Ruby, Ferrer, and Edney will all be 10.0 vaults, you could add Priessman into the mix but her shoulder is a major concern.

Bars, we only lose Myia. Durante needs to be moved down the lineup. Either Ferrer, Dean, or Campbell should take over for this spot. Kirby isn't bad but I definitely think we have way better bar workers.

Beam will be obviously where it will be trial by error. I feel like DD is fixated on pushing Kirby and Cannamela on beam for whatever reason. Some people just can't keep their nerves inside when they compete for competitions. I honestly think Dean wins one of these spots. If LSU adds Leduc, we are set for 5/6 routines and it will make life a thousand times easier.

Floor, we only lose Myia but Priessman IMO is pretty done. Lexie's body just can't hold up on floor at the end of the year, we saw at nationals she had the difficulty generating the power to compete certain skills. Every time she landed not properly it hurt her pretty bad. I would be shocked to see Lexie in the floor rotation, I have zero confidence her body can hold on. If Kelley is back to a freshman level form she is in on floor. Ferrer I feel is a safe bet as well.

I feel pretty confident about every lineup and who we will see. The question is who will lead off on bars next year and who will fill in on beam

We all need to pray no one falls to injury again, its very easy for this stuff to happen

Cannamela seems extremely nervous on beam. Rebecca D Antonio isn't bad on beam. I really would love to see Bridget Dean in the beam lineup. Don't you think Sarah Edwards is capable of training a double lay, Arabian or Full in on floor? She has the power and the charisma to sell the routine.

There's no need for Sarah to train another pass. Her front double is an E pass at the collegiate level and worth the same as a double lay, full in, or double Arabian. Plus, her front 2/1 was beautiful (could come in just a touch short sometimes). She'll just need to work on cleaning up her double back and that last full/full pass that she struggled with. She's been an awesome surprise for LSU and I really hope to see her in the floor lineup every week in 2019.

Edwards doesn't need to clean up the full full pass, it needs to be dumped. That pass is hard and she struggled with it more than once. She could do a front full front layout and have the same start value with a much safer pass, plus she can probably maintain better form on the layout. Another great option is the back 1 1/2 to punch front layout. That should be a very easy pass for her.
