Can’t wait to see this vault in the LSU lineup:

As long as Jay doesn’t “freshman” her and make her go back to a full (I mean that one’s perfect, so I’d guess not, but … I always get so nervous with his let’s take it slow with the freshmen, lol)

Zeiss lands the 1.5 very very well, but will need to clean up on form a little bit (bent knees and leg separation) But she seems very dialed in on lands which is good. She still has all of this year and all of next to continue to polish

Her biggest strength in college will obviously be on bars. In terms of bar workers, 24 class is definitely one of LSU's best classes in a long time for that event

She definitely can clean up the small things like knees and what not but if she can keep dialing in the landing then she is already so far ahead of the other 1.5s we have. We need to find those girls that Oklahoma finds every year who can stick more than not. I’ll take the guaranteed 9.95 and occasional 10 from the nice judges over the fingers crossed for a 9.9 if someone can manage to find a landing. The 2nd vault she did, in particular, was good enough for a 10 from many NCAA judges in dual meets and a 9.95 in post season.

I was happy to see that Kaliya got the SILVER on floor at the championships. I was so bummed for her on the bar routine that destroyed her placement for the National Team. All of her other events were in line but a 9 on bars knocked her down from 5th to 13th. Several of the top 10 girls fell on both days with low scores on those events but still got the overall score to make the Nat'l Team. Does anyone know if they ever invite some of the gymnasts that were event finalists but did not make the Nat'l team?

Truthfully, I don't know exactly what OU does in their practices but their ability to land cleanly on all events is something they have perfected far better than essentially all other programs. Its not just vault, but look at bars and even beam. On floor, even when they don't land cleanly, they incorporate choreography out of the tumbling passes to blend it well.

Granted, I know they sometimes land with huge squats, but if you look at a lot of their L10 recruits, many of them are on par with the rest of ours and other top teams recruits but somehow they find ways for their athletes to develop more consistent landings than others.

She will for sure be invited to Worlds Selection, as they are choosing both a Worlds team and a PanAm team. I think she is probably an incredible long shot for worlds, likely because of bars (they are just not usable at that level; not that they would ever be planning to use her for bars, but depending on the rat if the team she injury or two once over there, it’s probably too risky to take her given the US depth). She is definitely on people’s radar now over the next year jn the lead up to Paris and I assume she’ll make the PanAm team! She had a great championship, aside from that day 2 bar routine.

Does anyone know if Jay and the Coaches took the Gym Team to Gulf Shores over the holiday weekend as they have for several years?
Also, I'm seeing a lot of predictions on the 2025 Recruiting Class.

I doubt it considering Sierra was out of town this weekend on a girls trip with her family and the rest of their Instagram posts included them in BR celebrating Sav and Elena’s birthdays. I’m guessing the trip will be held on a different weekend this year

I just listened to a very informative interview with Jay Clark done by "The Skating Lesson" on YouTube. The interview was today. It was a thorough interview and lengthy but well worth the time spent listening to it. A lot questions were answered about the team and some of the gymnasts.

Individuals across social media have their predictions which are speculation at this point. College Gym News has these recruits listed as having a strong interest in LSU.

Jasmine Cawley, Nina Ballou, and Madelyn Dorbin. Makenzie Estep is a possibility for LSU but has many colleges pursuing her.

I completely understand that the interviewer wanted to do his due diligence and go deep into every aspect of Jay’s coaching career and decisions he’s made but I wish he wouldn’t have asked Jay about Alexis Jeffrey. Jay has already stated multiple times in multiple different interviews to multiple different reporters that he has already spoken more on that topic than he has wanted to and feels as if he has already said his piece about it, covered everything there is to cover about her transfer situation and is now basically just repeating himself and wants to move on for the good of Lexi and the team but for some reason interviewers still can’t seem to let that go and move on in the way Jay has requested them to.
