It really is shocking that CKC is still around. Georgia is literally the worst team in the SEC. I never ever thought that would happen when I started following NCAA gymnastics over 20 years ago.

I saw a picture on Twitter that looked like an entry list for some competition. The names were of the women on the team from the Philippines and Aleah was listed. Is she still going to try for Worlds? I remember it being mentioned but then I thought maybe she changed her mind.

She’s on the nominative roster for the Asian games but hasn’t confirmed if she plans to compete. She’d have to place high there to earn a team or individual spot to worlds. Gymcastic covered in this week and unfortunately they don’t think she and Emma Malabuyo have a great shot of making it to worlds due to the competition

Thanks. I didn’t know the competition for the Philippines team would be so tough. I figured for Aleah it would be about her hitting 4 for 4 with elite routines, she has struggled with that in the past. Selfishly I hope she decides to rest and prepare for next year but if she goes for it then I will cheer her on all the way.

It’s not the competition within the team so much as across all Asian countries. I think two teams and a handful of additional all arounders qualify to worlds. I would love to see her try but based on her social media I would be surprised if she’s been training.

Garrett Griffith seems very excited about the 2025 Recruiting possibilities in his posts on Twitter.

I think it will be a very good class. It will mostly be kids from the L10 ranks. Lots of high quality L10 recruits this class.
Honestly LSU has always recruited exceptionally well but it would be nice for once if the kids that commit to LSU can stay healthy. Feels like we have had abnormally bad luck in that department in recent years

Aleah decided to go to Singapore to compete for the Philippines! She’s there with Garrett

Good for Aleah! I hope she proves Gymcastic wrong on their their statement concerning her competitive chances for a World Championship. I've learned to never underestimate the power and drive of the human spirit.

Does that mean she’s missing next season?

2025 recruiting starts tomorrow
Just a fun prediction
Nina Ballou will be LSU's first 2025 commit (Florida will be biggest competitor for this one)

Aleah is going to Worlds! She did very well on three events. She had a few falls on bars, scoring only a 6.333 E. 50.399 AA score. So happy for her!!

So thrilled for Aleah! Maybe she should just stick with her NCAA routine on bars?
Posted on 6/16/23 at 11:03 am to BigB0882
I haven’t found a clip of her bar routine from today, anyone have it?
Someone on Twitter said her NCAA routine misses two connection requirements and she loses 0.5 for jumping from low to high bar so I can understand why she’d want to change it for elite. Still a phenomenal day for her and I noticed even with a fall she scored better than Lynzee Brown, former denver star who qualified to worlds this year for Haiti using her NCAA routines.

I think they must have mistaken Aleah for another gymnast because she didn’t have a fall on bars. She missed a few requirements.
