Unless Ladies can increase there start values on vault and beam, they will not compete with Okla, they have just able all 10 start values on those and it showed in scores

You are correct about vault but all of our girls have a 10 SV on beam. Basically every routine competed in Division 1 gymnastics starts from a 10 with the exception of vault.

Now, they have some built in deductions that can be addressed. Poor leap choices being a big one but also dismounts that are not being stuck (1.5 that Elena and Sierra do). But that doesn’t mean their Start Value isn’t a 10

There is absolutely no reason not to have 6 10.0 vaults; I don’t care how good Elena’s full is or how much Jay likes to start with a full. Also, this is the perfect time for KJ and Bryce to push those upgrades (I think safe DTYs are always better than 1.5s because the landing is just easier)

With Jill coming to BR, she is also someone who adds depth for us on Floor and is a solid, clean 2 pass routine we can call on when needed. Though we may never use her on the other 2 events, she can hit a clean bars and beam set too if we need her to. Happy to have her here so we can have 6 10.0SV vaults

Anyone have any info if they are going make Courtney our third paid assistant once the new rule on paid assistants takes effect? I assume yes...but maybe she wants the flexibility to be a volunteer? If the plan is not to elevate her, any idea who we would try to get (I can't imagine a scenario where three paid assistants are allowed and we didn't have three).

Watching the baseball game and they showed the crowd. Maybe I'm wrong but it looked like Savannah Schnonherr was sitting in between Elena Arenas and Kam Ryan.

Yup that’s her! Wouldn’t be surprised if she came here. She’s got the GEG connection with Elena and Sami (as well as the Georgia connection with Jay) and is already good friends with many of our girls. Many people within the gymternet may think LSU is too conservative for Sav because she is gay but they’ll often forget that she’s also a Christian and grew up in the south. Having her come here may do wonders for us and shifting our program and others perspective on the culture of it

I would be so down for it if she came; like her bars and her vault alone make it worth it - and her beam is probably better than half of our current beam lineup and she has experience doing it, at least some time, at Florida

I just worry if adding her and taking routines away from Tatum/Cowan/etc could potentially force one of them into the portal next year.
There are only so many routines.

That being said, SS does make us closer to the natty.

I think your last point is the point that matters - you have to have the routines to get the natty, and this is another routine that gets us closer, especially next year.

I also don’t know what opportunities there will be for a transfer like Tatum or Cowan, less big names,or if they’d even want to especially if they are embedded and connected with the team - honestly with Savannah - i think our best case bars lineup is something like Tatum, Cowan, schoenherr, finnegan, Jeffrey, Bryant.

I know that leaves out kiya, and Alyona, and Livvy - but I think livvy’s injuries may still hurt her on bars; kiya doesn’t need to do all around on a team this deep and alyona’s long-standing dismount issues are well known.

In this hypothetical scenario where Sav comes to LSU, if we’re saying we’re going to rest Kiya from the AA, on my own honest opinion, it makes more sense to rest her from vault, beam or floor and use Schoenherr in those lineups where there’s more stress put on the legs (especially the Achilles) and use Kiya on bars over someone like Tori who has in the past dealt with shoulder and elbow pain/injuries and has surgery on them. Yes Tatum will get better the more she competes but at what cost to her upper body when Kiya’s is more solid?

I honestly do not think Tatum would be removed from the bars lineup. She was a consistent 9.875 score all year.

She’s the one who was put in when Kiya went down and Kiya is more likely to score 9.9+ consistently on that event

Based on Kiya being lead off, she doesn’t consistently score 9.9. I really don’t think Kiya will be the weekly all-arounder for us anymore. Tori actually was pretty consistent on bars . Her and Cowen made great contributions. I think they keep their spots. Aleah needs a new dismount. Sav and Kiya will have to make their way in the lineups assuming Sav chooses LSU. Both missed this season and has to work for it. I really think this is the season Jay sees the potential .Obviously im not a coach, for him to put Cowan in over Dunne. He sees potential . I think the entire staff should be proud of a lot this season. But they also have to climb so to speak.
