I think she was just congratulating her on the recruiting process as a whole. According to Avery’s coach, she will be announcing her commitment at practice tonight and her coach doesn’t even know where she’s going to commit so I doubt Riley does either

I really hope Riley does not have any insider info, but just misunderstood Neff's post. I do not want her to commit to Florida. Also Neff seems too social media savvy, to let Riley spill the beans for her. My guess is Avery will commit to LSU, I think she would be a perfect fit. She is a standout performer, there is no better stage for her than the PMAC

Also given her religious background, if she doesn’t choose Utah, LSU seems to be the next best fit for her. Florida seems to be a little bit TOO liberal in my opinion for someone like her

Did you see Garret's Twitter post a day or so ago? It stated "Tigers on the trail" along with an airplane Gif. I wondered if that was an hint of something ahead.

He has tended to post something along those lines just before a new commit is announced so we’ll see in a few hours if it truly meant anything

I personally don't read much into all that. Avery loves to play and tease people (not in a bad way, she is a super sweet kid). I could see her going to a multitude of schools for different reasons. Every one has a different reason whether its the school location, program atmosphere, academics, opportunity to compete, chance to win a national title, etc.

I always thought Utah would be one of the most difficult teams to fend off for her but some kids do wish to leave home and explore another part of the country. We will find out soon enough.

Can we talk about the awesome rise of Lexi Zeiss? In a single year she went from a gymnast who wasn’t on the radar for many fans to:

-highest ranking ???? at PanAms

-one of LSU’s most prized recruits

-Made the Worlds team

It will be a great learning experience for her. She doesn’t have the difficulty right now to contend with the top few American ladies but she’s been very consistent. Hopefully we’ll see some upgrades next year to help her get to that top group, if that’s what she wants!

Has to up the difficulty but the good thing for her like you said is she is very consistent. I enjoy her bar work a lot.

Another update on the recruiting front:

Bama’s last scholarship spot has been claimed meaning Neff has declined the spot. Also J Roberson has made her college decision and will be announcing it soon. If she has committed to OU, which was her first choice, that means it’s down to Utah, UF and LSU as Neff’s college choices.

Side note: Realistically and mathematically, unless someone gets their scholarship taken away or someone medically retires, I don’t see how UF has an open scholarship spot for Neff

She’s going to Arkansas so the OKlahoma spot is still open

Yep, Arkansas is a logical choice for her. She will be closer to her home. There's a lot of discussion on social media that Neff's choices are Fl, OK or Utah. Who knows at this point where she's landing.... please just announce and be done with it!

To reiterate my question from before: does Florida even have a scholarship open for her? Keeping in mind who may take a redshirt senior/covid senior year, it seems like the only logical way she can get one is if Jenny forces someone to medically retire or takes someone’s scholarship away in favor of Neff. The only two schools I know for certain have a scholarship spot open for her are OU and Utah. So at this point I’m cautiously optimistic about her choosing LSU. I would absolutely LOVE for her to commit here but everyone on gymternet Twitter is making me doubt that it’s even an option.

I may be the odd one out here, I have given up trying to understand scholarship numbers and management for one reason. I truly believe if someone like Neff wants to join their program, even with the tight scholarship count, these coaches will find some type of way to make room and make it happen. I have lost count over the years the amount of shuffling rosters have gone through from many top programs (including LSU) between medical retirements, transfer, graduation, etc where these programs found a way to make room for top recruits.

With all that said Neff is still on the table for LSU. Jenny has shaken up her roster multiple times to get recruits in the past and I don’t doubt she would adjust as needed to make room for Neff IF she wanted in

I don’t worry either way, the 23 and 24 classes are really good, about as good as Jay has ever recruited. They are in terrific standing regardless.
