With the transfer portal, do we need to take some 3 star guys that are all LSU whether they play or not. I mean how is anyone supposed to have any depth if everyone that does not start leaves every year? Portal needs some fine tuning still.

Like maybe you should have to at least have to be an upperclassman.

Grad transfer, play immediately. Coach leaves, so can you. Everything else, sit a year.

That's why I brought up D'Wayne' Winfield.

And TaDerius Collins from up in Shreveport.

This year is more or less the ideal year to load up on developmental guys. There's no signing limit. You can take as many as you want, and if they really can't play then they'll be in the portal in a year.

But if they do have some ability then you're stacking your roster with a bunch of Russell Gages and Lloyd Cushenberrys and Bennie Logans, and that's how you end up crazy-good.

No signing limit but you still have to stop at 85

But we never get to 85 anyway, so load up.

It's either sign the extra kids or give scholarships to walkons when you have them left over. You generally will end up with more talent on your roster taking a chance on 3-stars.

I agree for the most part. I do think if a guy cant get past the starter after 3 years he should be able to go without sitting. Like if joe burrow had nit graduated……….I think he should have still been able to move.

People love to bring up the fact that we had 6 starters from the transfer portal this year….but if we didn’t have so many guys transfer out …we wouldn’t have needed to build a roster from scratch

They need to quit granting waivers for everyone that transfers 2 or 3 times. You get 1 free transfer. Everything after that requires sitting out.

Non starter until coaches have to sit a year too.

Missouri had their entire staff down last week to visit with Tootie, they are making him a priority. I have a feeling that he will be one that we look back on and wonder why LSU didn’t sign him up.

He should sign with Missouri then … if he were my son … that’s what I’d tell him

They need to shut down grad transfers, too. That would at least settle things down a bit. Right now any kid with half a brain can basically transfer twice in three year without an issue.
