Recent OL offer - Jacarrius Peak, IOL

On October 12th (10/12/2021), LSU was the first SEC offer to O-Lineman, Jacarrius Peak. Brad Davis offered the 6'5", 315-lber. and it sounds like he's already established good rapport w/ Peak.
In a recent interview, Peak was asked about B. Davis, to which he replied, "He's a cool coach. I like how he communicates with me, he knows what's up."
Peak also plays basketball for Valdosta High, as well as, being on the school's track & field team (shot put).
I liked what I saw from J. Peak's senior year HUDL (mid-season) as it relates to athleticsm, strength, quickness, etc. He's the starting right tackle (RT) for Valdosta, but 247sports projects him as an interior O-Lineman (IOL) - the 15th highest ranked IOL according to 247sports.
Peak is from Valdosta, GA and teammate of an LSU-commit - JaDarian Rhym. Will try to link Jacarrius' 247/Rivals profile, but would greatly appreciate y'all helping me out with this below.

That size, athletic and no gut. He looks like an under the radar take.

Probably good evaluations. Cushenberry was a 3 star.

Continuing with the theme of "first SEC offer" here a couple of names I'm hoping get interest/looks (offers even) from us:
- Demon Moore, Ft. Wayne IN (OG)
- Will Saxton, Brenton MS (OG/C)
- Sullivan Weidman, Brookline MA (OT) [WVU Commit]
The idea being neither nature or services have finished with these guys. What they are now, physically, will be different than what they will be.

It's time to bring in all the lineman and if they don't cut it they transfer.

I still think this is where we can (by breaking the rules smartly) we can use NIL deals to our advantage. Judging by the past responses on here it seems unpopular but I'm assuming that's from those that just don't understand we and pretty much every school is "dirty" in some shape form or fashion when it comes to recruiting.
But for OL such as this get have these guys walk on with an NIL deal equal to or above tuition + stipend for scholarship players.
It can be done- every one of BYU's walk-ons got an NIL deal equal to their tuition earlier this year.
On paper, the school didn't arrange for it. Great- that's what I'm talking about. Make it happen.

There is a show on Netflix that features The Valdosta football team called Title Town High. This kid is in every episode. Seems to be ok. He also tried to get with the QB's girlfriend in one episode when they broke up.

Yea I wouldn't say that show left me with a positive vibe on this kid. Seems pretty dense, but it is just a show. I'm sure if every player was on a Netflix show, it would change how we view them.

I realized he also throws shot-put, this guy is explosive and the type of lineman you want.

Great question about Neto, Chalky.
Haven’t heard/read even as much as a whisper on him in a while, so unfortunately, no idea what’s going on with him.

that is about the level of Olinemen that we have recruited the last few years...and it is why we are not any good anymore.

Not at all. We recruited oversized guys like Bradford and Thomas who haven’t been able to get or stay in shape. Now we are going after guys who are leaner with frames to take on more good weight. Guys like Kimo who may be developmental takes, but who have the potential to be players after a couple of years in a good S&C program.
You HAVE to have guys like these to build long-term depth. It’s all about getting the evaluations right on who has the best shot to pan out.

We need Oline coaches that know how to evaluate. and then develop. LSU has fallen way behind in the SEC in both of these important parts of building a winning program.
