I know signing day is the 20th.
Listening to the Riola drama up her in Atlanta I heard something interesting and was wondering if LSU does something similar....

Local radio reports that most UGA recruits, who are graduating early, are showing up to UGA to practice this Saturday. (12/16)

The act of practicing with the team effectively locks them into the scholarship and starts their eligibility. They get to practice with the Team for the bowl season.

Anyone know if LSU does anything similar?

And Aranda said he was one of the best players on the field

What a freak Sting is. Finally healthy and showing out in the NFL.

I remember fans pissed that Stingley couldn't play in the Fiesta Bowl when we were running out receivers at DB

I know in the past that burned a yr of eligibility. Also the team has to have room on the 85 cap to do that.

Doesn't seem like scholarships would matter. There are walk-ons that practice.

The difference is walk ons are actually in school. It is my understanding that you cannot practice with the team if you are not considered in school. I would have to assume these players are considered in school if they are enrolled awaiting start of spring semester.
I remember Stingley doing it but I dont remember all the ins and outs of it

You can do it for players that are going to be EE. You can't have someone that still has to finish a semester of high school go out and practice.
