Granted we have Cooley and possibly moving Delane there based on personnal. Everyone keeps talking about Spears, Toviano and Gilbert as well, but my question is nobody talks about our three freshman signees.

C J Jimcoily, Jhase Thomas and Jacob Bradford...do we have no expectations for any of these three players? I thought Jimcoily from Tennessee has plenty of potential and has the size at 6'3" 205. I remember when recruitng him he was one of our prized secondary recruits. I know they are freshmen and haven't played any colllege ball but does anyone think they could possibly be a sleeper/surprise addition if not to the starting unit but at least a key backup?

If they don't make it on campus for Spring practice, it's hard to see them being an impact in the fall. I think 13 recruits are on campus and in the program now, and those would be freshman who could be impactful in 2025. With so much Zone defense needed to counter dual threat QBs, DBs are not as impactful as true Freshman. There are exceptions, but it's difficult to project.

Bradford is just a body. Trying to get his brother here.

Thomas has the tools be a SEC safety.

Jimcoily probably already has one of the highest football IQs on the team and will take over at STAR after Perkins’s last season. Jhase Thomas has only been playing safety for 1 year and absolutely looks the part and could start in year 2 as well.

I think the real question will be who ends up leaving

Nowadays its hard to get excited or expect much from HS kids unless they are a Top 50 recruit. The question is... will those guys hang around long enough to put themselves in a position to develop/play?

Every off-season the staff will be looking to fill needs with "Quick fix" experienced guys.

yes, I do if they are physically developed enough.
That has been a lot of our problem with tackling

Like I’ve been saying HS recruiting is becoming less and less relevant.

Bullshite. The majority of your roster is going to be high school recruits. Every year the top teams are comprised of guys from high school that have been in the system for 2 and 3 years. Then you sprinkle in a few difference makers out the portal.

100 percent with you on Jhase Thomas. He’s played safety for a year and was so good he was ranked the no.1 safety out of Louisiana. Kid is a true centerfielder who has special closing speed getting to ball carriers. That kid has flat out star potential
