Question about numbers.

We have 16 in the portal. 11 out of eligibility. Total 27.
23 freshman signees. Already 7 either committed or signed from the portal. Current total 30.
Will CBK be processing current players or will more scholarship spots open up?

I could've swore that the total roster number goes up to 105 next year so we technically have an extra 20 spots. I know the rule has changed but it might not be for next season

I would imagine a few more will enter the portal on our end, processed or by choice, before this window closes. Then, there will be more during the Spring window once they see where they are on the depth chart.
Some incoming early enrollees might even enter because of the reasons stated above or they are homesick or some other reason. It has happened the last couple of seasons.

This is part of the reason I was asking the question.

According to dstone we now have room for 6 more.
I’d like to save at least 2 spots for spring.

This isn't true. The SEC is staying at 85 next season.

I don't think we were at 85 at the end of the season. We had 83 I think. Plus you did not count the guys declaring for the draft, 3 so far. So that would be another 5 slots, 2 more open, if I have the numbers right.

So in addition to the 11 players in Chicken’s sticky on tRant:
RB Josh Williams
OL Garrett Dellenger
OL Miles Frazier
WR Kyren Lacy
DL Sai'vion Jones
DL Paris Shand
DL Gio Paez
DE Braydn Swinson
LB Greg Penn
DB Zy Alexander
S Major Burns
.. I count 4 more players who are also out of eligibility:
RB John Emery
P Blake Ochsendorf
LS Slade Roy
DL Jalen Lee
That puts you at losing 15 players to eligibility, unless Emery decides to try to get a waiver and come back. Then we have the 16 players who went to the portal, plus 3 players who have declared for the NFL draft (so far).
That puts us at 34 players leaving in total so far. With the 30 signees + commits so far, that means that as things stand today, we should have at least 4 scholarships available.
If we were at 83 this year instead of 85, as someone suggested, it would be 6 scholarships available. If Perkins declares, it’ll increase to 7. But again that’s also assuming Emery doesn’t decide to come back.
I suspect we’ll see some additional portal entries after spring camp as well. Right now I wouldn’t think we need to process any more current players, unless they’re planning on signing 6+ more guys in this portal window.

They might. It looks like they are serious about the portal and aren't going to leave any holes for the spring portal. They'll likely just try to fill what they lose then.
I would expect the portal to slow down for LSU soon unless any playoff teams have any coaching changes or any coaches go to the NFL. There's always a second wave of coaching changes.
