Georgia was heavily recruiting Dashawn Womack up until signing day last year. So probably him.

I think that's exactly what Kelly was referring to. I don't know the amount of Perkins' deal last year and he is obviously a game-changer. However, Kelly's found great talent in the portal - DL, DB, LB, OL, QB. We've got a lot of starters and depth from there and Kelly seems to be an elite coach with an eye for talent and can develop guys.

I get it. If some college throws over $1M to a high school kid, it's hard for him to say no. If you combine that dynamic with the ability to transfer once with no penalty, why wouldn't someone take the money?

The money is always going to play a factor, for some more than others.

LSU offers more than just money up front. If Simmons doesn't value everything that LSU has to offer then it's probably best that he goes to Texas. Jaxon Howard will help us get over the loss.

Then it’s probably half of that or a fraction of it. Even 750k is big time money for nothing. I’ve been saying this for a year. LSU needs to have a person in place to show them that they can make their own darn money but can start that for them and have clear examples of that currently working. This isn’t over but LSU needs someone who can show these guys how to build their own money and not have it given to them. That has staying power and would be very impressive to parents. This is your path, here’s proof that if you take this path, you can become a success yourself and now have the knowledge to build anything you want to build yourself. That is much much more valuable and you can come up with a dollar sign for this route. It’s worth unlimited dollar amounts, quite literally.

Have proof that this guy made 500k in 3 years, this guy made 1.2 million, this guy made 1.9 mill. This guy who was a regular 300 ranked recruit is now worth 3.6 million in 4 years because he stayed at LSU and built his own brand and learned how to manipulate his money. This is what he did yearly. This is how. He travels basically free now because he’s made his own brand and it is a true business. He doesn’t need to play football now but he’s also got that opportunity if he wants it. That’s what LSU needs to build and they need to do it before anyone else so they we are known as the first program to do it on a big scale with multiple success stories. Different types of players with different personalities, goals, starting points and all took the same path the only difference is some capitalized and some didn’t to the same degree. But if you do it and use this starting money to do this, then you can be a millionaire in 3-5 years at LSU. But as long as you know how, you can pick when or to what degree this works for you.

So the guy that made 500k in 3 years was also a first round pick and is making plenty of money in the NFL. The guy that made his 3.6 million in 3 years played 5 years and is now worth 30 million and doing even better than the first rounder. But that first rounder also has the ability to turn his 20 million net worth into 50 million at any time. He may not put so much of an emphasis on this because he feels secure but what it does, is gives you that security you need to be who ever you want, whenever you want to. That is invaluable and has staying power. Why LSU isn’t all over that aspect of this NIL stuff is crazy to me. They should be and need to be. I’d go to LSU or have my child go simply to learn how to do this and be taught this for free!

I love LSU and even Baton Rouge. But Texas is a better school, and Austin is a much better city. And he’s from Texas. All that, combined with getting $1.5 million? Seems like a no-brainer. Would have loved to get him, but I can’t hate on the kid for making that decision.

Texas is the better school academically, yes. Austin being the better city? That’s totally subjective. Not everyone wants to live in the California of the south.

Kid is from Texas. Mom wanted him closer to him. Texas paid more than we were willing to. Chest had nothing to do with it. Except making you sound dumb.

Time to move on. We need to land 2 or 3 Dlinemen with our remaining spots. Hopefully, McKinley is one of them.

No, it’s really not. I’ve lived in both for 7+ years. Again, I love Baton Rouge. But it’s not even close.

So, you’ve lived there, I take it?

Let's be real. Both great schools if you're a 17-19 year old looking out for your future, and he is from Texas. Would've loved to have him in P&G, but definitely not a bad career decision. That said, I hope our tackles have him on his back every game, all game.

Of course it was. It always comes down to money except in the case of Harold perkins.

I mean I understand his decision to go with the quick money. It wasn't the right decision though.

He can make NIL here upwards of 3 or 4K
That's should be plenty to take care of a family.

Wish him the best but hopefully we can flip him before signing day

A lot more than 3 or 4K if he signed here. No insider information. But I know you're talking 6 figure money for a player like Simmons.

Also lived in both, anybody saying Baton Rouge is better is lying or has never spent any time in Austin. The OT board has like 5 threads a day with people talking about getting the hell out of BR and Louisiana.

not hard to assume since he was a big fan of LSU for a while, and then the checkbooks opens up.

Like i said, go take McKinley back now.

Had a friend in town from Austin last night. It is a desert out there right now and crime is not better than it is here. It may be a bit prettier in terms of natural beauty but it is not a much better city or as you said "not even close".

I've been there a couple of times, I was not overly impressed.
