Clearly, stating that Texas gave him a fat sum of money that LSU could not, or would not match
It’s all fun and games till he gets tired of losing

He'll transfer over just like our starting Jack did this year.

He was always going to Texas and LSU was a nothing more than a leverage tool.

I wonder what the dollar amount was

Kelly has said he will not get in bidding wars. Keep that in mind when lsu is leading weeks in advance. The big bags drop last minute.
His commitment shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone as Texas has always been willing to pony up.

Could be a smart decision financially, could be a bad one. Only Time Will tell. But doesn't past performance show that highly rated recruits have much better draft prospects at LSU then at Texas?
High time preference (only thinking about the present) is a mother fricker.

lets all stop acting like players have never come to LSU for the money and just LOVE the university.

Harold Perkins says hello.
What Kelly won’t do is bankrupt us for one recruit. $500k here, $1mill there is pocket change for Texas. We’ve got to be more deliberate with our money.

Congrats to the young man. Hope it works out for him in the long run.

He didn’t say that.
All he said was Texas paid more

I'm hearing 1.5 million.

Yeah, well I can't blame him.

This. I absolutely love my tigers. But if I worked for LSU and someone offered me way more at another school, I'd heavily consider that. He's not vested in LSU yet so the decision was probably a little clearer for him.
But if you're not a tiger, then you're tigerbait! It's still frick UT

Maybe that explains Kelly's comments during his presser today.
"Why are you here? If it's to chase NIL...then you're going to be distracted from the ultimate goal."

I'm a huge fan of Kelly and he may have said he won't get into a bidding war, but that doesn't mean the boosters won't. All these elite kids are for sale and if you don't bring money to the table, you're not getting any of the elite players. I hate it, but it's the reality of college football!

Who was the guy? I can't ever remember us winning one of these rumored bidding wars
