He's supposed to wait till after NSD and take all 5 visits I believe

Gonna make things interesting in regards to who holds a spot for him. Bama is almost full now and I'd expect they land a few. Auburn has spots but will they hold one especially if they land some of the big fish DL they're after? We have spots and personally I see no reason to use them all if not kids that will actually be contributors. No clue who the next 2 would be but I'm sure suitors will be there. Him waiting could actually benefit us.

He is very raw. This was his first year playing football and he played for a very small school. His school is K through 12th grade and has about 300 TOTAL students including grade school. Edgewood academy is in a private school league and plays similar sized schools. That having been said he is a freakish athlete with a big up side.

Am I missing something? I thought he reclassified for 2015.
Okay. Based on what I have seen, it looks like he doesn't have to sign on NSD. How does this work? Seems weird that a high school recruit could reclassify for an earlier class and then just choose when he signs. Would it mean that he would be part of the 2016 class if he waited?

He was reclassified, but there are no rules saying he has to sign on NSD. No he would still be a part of the 15 class.

No recruit has to sign on NSD. That's just the earliest time they are allowed to.

At a position like DL, experience isn't as huge a deal as it would be for say a linebacker. He also hasn't had time to develop any bad habits.

How is Auburn out if he's from Alabama...what did I miss?

Its not like he grew up there. The guy is from Africa, not Alabama. He moved there like a year ago.

Sucks, but at least they aren't Bama fans. I still think we can overcome that, hopefully they won't be too pushy.

Exactly. He can be molded into whatever the coaches want. My only concern is if he continues to grow taller. At 6'8, pad level could be an issue. If he continues to grow, it will be tough to maintain leverage.

The first Wednesday in February is the first day of the signing period for 2015 high school football players. They can sign that day or any day after that.
As far as Tega being reclassified from 2016 to 2015 it was because certain credits from his school in Nigeria were being considered and finally accepted recently by his current school. Had they not accepted those credits he would have been a 2016 graduate.

As someone pointed out, he will sign after NSD and will take OVs up to that point. Auburn visit got rescheduled I believe to Jan 30th weekend and Chidi Okeke will UOV with him as well.
The only real question mark is how Auburn's class shapes up with DEs. Otherwise, it seems likely he ends up at AU with our early recruitment, in state and host family all pushing towards AU.

There is a limit to the number of OV's and yesterday it was reported somewhere on this board that he had cancelled his OV to Auburn and replaced it with Oregon. I took it in context that it was his last OV he had left.

He gets 5...he just reclassified so we are his 1st

Then what brought up the quote regarding his guardians not wanting him playing farther than 6 hours away from home?

He only started taking OVs this weekend so it would be impossible for him to max out before NSD anyways. He will be OVing Oregon I believe but the AU visit was only rescheduled not forever canceled.

He is from Nigeria but he likes his host family and feels comfortable where he is. The host family being very pro AU and living in Alabama makes Auburn a heavy favorite.
Would be the same as if he had a host family in LA who were LSU fans. It likely would mean he'd end up at LSU a la Michael Oher

LSU fans should root for Auburn to land CeCe Jefferson, Arden Key and Byron Cowart. If that happens it will be pretty unlikely that Auburn takes Prince Tega

Ok so essentially the quote on page 2 of this thread is B.S.
Thanks, trying to read through the lines

To a certain degree, this is true. All down lineman have physical maturity questions, though. Some (Tommie Harris) are sufficiently advanced physically AND are gifted enough to come in and play heavily from day 1. Most require either a little experience, or some maturing to fully develop.
Sorry guys, I'm "gun shy" about "freakish" athletes with "unlimited" upside, if you can't get the peformance out of him in 3 years AND he decides to go pro and undrafted... *COUGH*FREAK*COUGH*
