Assuming Foster does not make it in the remaining four. Who are some potential walk-on options? I would assume it would be someone from in state.
Who you got?

Baker Mayfield isn't walking through that door

Is there doubt in our current qbs who will be returning next year?

There is usually a walk-on QB every year, whether there is QB signed or not. I would expect there to be one or two this year as well.
Need those camp arms.

We can't evaluate scholarship QBs well. What makes u think we gonna find a diamond in the rough walkon QB.

They never give the Walk ons a chance anyway,

quote:I'd guess a significant portion of walk ons are guys whose HS coach made a call or two and got them a slot as a walk on. One of my sons teammates from HS is a walk on DB for LSU. Their coach was Trev Faulk, he made a call for him and he's a walk-on. Probably never see the game time but camp bodies are important.

Mayfield was not a walk-on at Oklahoma.

Was indeed one at both Oklahoma and Texas Tech

He was a true walk-on at Texas Tech. He was a non-scholarship player for one year Oklahoma, only due to Big 12 transfer rules.

Kentucky's original starter for this season is doing the grad transfer thing.

If I was still in my prime I’d just take the starting gig my damn self.

Loving was committed to Northwestern State. Not sure if he signed in the early period or not.
His ball delivery is a bit wierd. But no question on his accuracy. Looks like he has enough arm as well.
I would definitely take him as a WO if he was interested. One year under SEC practice and training, and if he didn't develop into a potential starter, or LSU got a blue chipper in 19, then he could transfer to NWST or other small school. And he'd be a much better player having practiced against the SEC best pass defense.

I don't think he is committed to NWST I think he just had an offer.
