Along with whom is already committed, if we can land the mystery 5 star tackle and Ray Parker from Ruston, how will the haul of OL rank compared to others in the past? It appears to me that this could quite possibly be one of our best years recruiting OL ever.

Opinions?

If we do land the mystery 5 star (Dobbs) and Parker then I’d put it up there as one of the best OL classes ever. Only problem is with spots so tight and a lot of targets out there, if we do land Dobbs, it’s possible Parker wouldn’t be a part of this class.

To me, if the mystery five star and Parker want in, you make room somehow. We’ve done a pretty good job with the D-line but it seems that the last five years (at least), the O-line has been a source of worry going into the season. Has to be a priority.

Doesn't Ray Parker have qualifying issues right now?

That's what I've read, but that's been on here. I'm from Ruston, and apparently the kid really wants in. He'd possibly be willing to go to a juco and be a part of next year's class.

I would do everything to make room for these two. It’s just with 19 commitments I only see one guy not sticking right now that puts us at 18. Let’s say the Sospher brothers (cause we’ll have to waste a valuable spot on Rodney Sospher) commit we’re at 20. Devonta Lee puts us at 21. I assume 1 RB between Cain and Emery at 22. Nakobe Dean 5 Star LB is a sleeper to be apart of this class. Addisa Issac is trending our way, Raydarious Jones the underrated Corner is trending our way. Talking about Parker, and Devonta Dobbs in this class. Obviously a few other guys on the radar like Nathan Pickering, Khris Bogle, George Pickens, Jalen Curry. Devin Bush and Joey Porter jr. are still out there. There’s a lot of guys left I just hope we pick the right guys to round out the class.

If he isn't a qualifier he has to spend 2 years and graduate in JUCO before going D1

Apparently he does have some qualifying issues right now. Supposedly Sospher does too. If he does choose Juco and is apart of next years class that would be a nice move on both ours and his part.

Thanks for the information. I didn't realize that two years at a juco was a requirement for those that didn't qualify out of high school. Learn something new every day.

Dean might be the biggest current uncommitted guy that I want the most right now. We’re his last OV, and that always goes a long way. It’s something to look out for.

Shoot, I forgot Juco has to go for 2 years. I doubt he would want to waste away 2 of his college years at a Juco when he has big time offers.

Well he wouldnt have a choice if he didn't qualify for any of those offers. Only way in is spend 2 years and graduate from a JUCO. Can redshirt 1 year there.

Yeah, you’re right. Hopefully the kid qualifies. He would probably get redshirted his first year here anyways because of the fact he’ll be transitioning into a Tackle.

Mystery 5* is Dobbs. I said it a while back, but it was in passing in another thread. Still dont have an OV scheduled, but he still says he wants to try to come on one this Fall.

That’s good news to hear. I’m really hoping we could snag Dean, and Dobbs, maybe throw in Emery, and Sopsher. Very wishful thinking but it’s good to see us in the mix with quite a few 5 star guys.

Yeah, I remember you saying that. You always provide good info. I hope it happens. I honestly believe a great OL pull and good QB play would launch us back into another Golden Era.

It’s always about the QB, and line, both offensive and defensive.

True. I just worry about grabbing all these kids with grade risks, clearing house issues and our compliance dept. It seems it rarely works in our favor.

I’m a parent of a player and talking to another parent that son is one of the starters, he has issues that can be corrected.
