I posted this in the Marcel Brooks thread since someone mentioned he had been invited to the Poly Bowl. Figured I'd start a new thread since that one may not be looked at as much anymore.

The all-star game is Saturday January 19th on CBS Sports Network. 11:00 PM Central.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quite a few of the players in the game have pacific islands heritage but not all.

LSU players:
Marcel Brooks
Siaki "Apu" Ika
Donte Starks
Trey Palmer
Peter Parrish

Targets:
Ishmael Sopsher
Devonta Lee
George Pickens

Wouldn't mind one bit if the LSU coaches have some of the players recruiting some of the uncommitted DT's. There is also a 5-star OLB out of California that is not committed and a 4-star OT from Kahuku, HI.

Polynesian Bowl - Players

If nothing else it will be a good vacation for the kids before they begin attending college.

It may be pretty late at night since it is being played in Hawaii.

We should be after them in full force

Maybe they will have it on the TV at the Crescent

Not sure who I am kidding, I'll be awake playing video games with that game up on another monitor. Either way, I'm anxious to watch Brooks any chance I get.

Probably 20-30% of those guys in the Poly Bowl will play in the NFL. They're genetically some of the strongest people on the planet and their genetics are conducive to being great NFL players. Always a fun game to catch.

I just checked the guide on DirecTv shows that the game will start at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday night. I may have to record it and watch it on Sunday.

No players who have already signed in the early signing period should be playing in this game... yep, a business decision

Now that is freaking cool. I would have to think about it, but Vili may be the only parent that I actually like as much as if not more than their child that was attending LSU. Vili is a legend on the Island.

What qualifies a player to play in this game?

I honestly don't have a clue. The first time I even heard of it was during this football season. Fehoko's Mom was congratulating someone for being invited - Maybe Siaki or one of the many Kahuku players. Actually I think it was the player of the year in Hawaii from Kahuku high school that is related to them.

I then started noticing announcement tweets of others including LSU targets and commits - I think from Shea of 24/7.

You have to have Pacific Islander heritage and/or like tacos.

Ika has Tongan heritage...loves tacos. He's an example of the total package when it comes to qualifying for this game.

I like having so many LSU recruits playing out there, really good for our name recognition with young kids on the island and west coast

Yeah, hopefully it pays off for us.

What Ferrell from Clemson did last night was yuge for them...I think he was preeshing to DJ Ogluwhatevs, and now the CB's are rolling in for DJ to Clemp's Son.
