3 year starter at TB, Cam, and a sophomore at QB. Expect growing pains, then a nasty team come playoff time.

The News Star had an article a couple of weeks ago with quotes from a Ouachita player saying some of the guys weren't buying into the new guy's way of doing things but he hoped they'd come around. Talked about how much harder they were training/lifting and a rise in intensity.

Maybe Sims was thinking he was just going to "get through" his senior year by showing out when he got chance and just go through the motions when his number wasn't called. Probably was going half assed in practice on a running play. Sounds like the new guy got his attention.

This is true, but I find it extremely difficult to believe that WM will change anything.

What's sad is that i actually enjoy watching Sims play basketball more than football. He plays his arse off on the court, kind of a junkyard dog type of player. I've always been impressed with how hard he competes, i really hate that he's pulling this shite now

I heard from a current coach that Cam Sims was acting thuggish and the new head coach wasn't having that. Cam threatened to go to WM because he was punished by the coach and the new HC had him bring his parents to the field house for a discussion. Apparently the coach is not gonna put up with that kind of behavior and Sims is acting like a baby about it. Like I said, I was told this by a current coach, but I wasn't there to witness it for myself.

West Monroe had a WR named 5A MVP in 98. If the talent is there, the coaches will maximize it.

Well if Ouachita is going to take the next step and actually compete with WM, instead of being just pretty good, they need to change their attitude. From what I saw, they need some intensity, fire, and discipline.

OPHS grad here.

Kids today don't take well to attitude adjustments and discipline they just leave and go elsewhere

If I went home and said coach Brown chewed me out my dad would have said "you probably
deserved it now go back tomorrow and do it right"....parents today would have been at school board complaining that the coach yelled at her baby

Class of 01' here and I agree, too soft and too many selfish players. They need a hard nosed, no BS coach.
