Keep in mind we are talking about a mass exodus of 4 and 5 stars. If jimbo goes belly up, how many current starters hit the portal?

I honestly do not want this guy. He is not an immediate impact player. I don’t understand the 5* tag on him.

He’s 40 lbs too light and not really quick off of the ball. He doesn’t shed blocks like a 5 star DL should against normal high school competition. Not saying he can’t develop into a good college DL but he will need time. His 5 star rating has more to do with the fact that he had 2 pick sixes last year. He was 5 yards from the line of scrimmage and wasn’t in pass coverage for both interceptions. What does that tell you?

It’s sickening to know that LSU is in dire need of DL and 2 high profile DLs right in our home state is committed to the phaggets. What the hell man.

They are acting like children. On one hand they say LSU coaching staff does great evaluation then on the other hand they say McKinley isn't the best DT in the state. Well LSU offered him before Reliford. Sp which is it? Does LSU coaching staff evaluate great or not?

Context. If he wants to come and will accept and NIL package that coincides with his struggles playing against elite competition his senior season and needing time and coaching to play against SEC competition, then yeah, come on down. But what do you think the chances are of that happening?

If we are going to pay 5-star money at that position, we need some first-year impact on the field with the way things are. We at least need someone who can be in the rotation, and it doesn’t sound like he’s going to be that guy. If this is the case- prioritize resources.

In the future, we will probably be able to afford to pay a highly-rated in-state guy who may not have a big impact until year two or beyond, but not this season at that position.

But I think Smith would be another edge type of player

This is probably cynical but I wonder how many A$M decommitts are just fishing for a higher NIL?

I don't think it's as many as you think. The shine has completely worn off on that program. The fanbase is done with Jimbo and the recruits see it. I expect a solid number of their commits to defect, as well as current players on the roster regardless if Jimbo gets canned or not.

The big question is how many Ag boosters are going to say we aren’t giving Jimbo any more multiples of NIL money that we’ve given him in the past couple of years to get OOS kids. Have him win with what we’ve given him and have him have to actually compete apples to apples for recruits instead of outbidding everyone by 2x+ the NIL money?

You're giving Aggie way to much credit for rational thought ability.

I've watched McKinley twice this year, every single play he is doubled teamed and the opposing teams runs the opposite side of him.

McKinley is a kid that if he genuinely wanted to leave the state I could see at a Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Ohio State, etc. if the NIL money was comparable. Could see him flip to the home state team just as easily. But so long as the NIL money is at least 2x what the above is offering, he will stick with his “love” of A&M

He plays mostly 1 technique on the weak side of the center. They usually get double teamed and most teams run to the strong side. Regardless if he’s being double teamed or not he’s just not a 5 star, sorry. He won’t have an immediate impact no matter where he goes and he will have to get a lot better to become a starter in the SEC. If he can’t beat a double team against an average high school OLine then he’s got a ton of work to do to get to the point he can contribute at the next level.

We havent consistently recruited those 2 linemen whereas Aggie has been zeroed in on both of them the whole time. Sometimes recruiting literally is about who does the time consuming work of building relationships.

I think the most likely ones are Miller and Bussey. Hopefully a couple more, wouldn't complain if we have those two.

I think if we win @ Bama then that will be a lot of momentum for recruiting. Could be a big game for recruiting. It will show recruits that this program is going in the right direction and that these recruits can be a part of that.

not only that, but if Ole Miss beats TAMU i think they lose even more... kiffen may steal a few as well from what Im hearing...

Doesn't McKinley have a very talented little brother? Or am I thinking of someone else?

He has a younger brother that LSU has already offered.

IMO Reliford is the better player if you could only nab 1 of 2 (McKinley or Reliford).

Right. And it makes sense to take big brother, who at worst is a rotational DL from Louisiana, to get younger brother.

I don't think McKinley is a 5* guy, but I think he is a 4* type guy that will be solid depth. You take those guys from Louisiana.
