Miles is getting blasted for 1 guy. ONE. I really hate to do this because it makes me look like the rest of the idiots on this board that don't know what they're talking about, but regardless of what anyone says, Alabama will be pulling 8-10 scholarships this year. AT LEAST. That's the only possible way to make those numbers work.

ESPECIALLY with recruiting, alot of the times perception is reality
LSU landed RR, the better player and as of now, are a better team for it
There is some mending to be made and some efforts to battle additional negative recruiting ammo, but things should be okay.
As long as early committs don't get scared off, all is well

dmitch, i'm not saying that this is actually what happened. But, this is definitely what it looks like happened. and it is a shame.
Could you imagine us pulling DBent's offer and then Randle going to OU?
Then, we have 0 WRs because we let one person outside of the program dictate who got an offer.
fwiw, I agree with just about everything you said.
but it all worked out in this situation, which is great.

I just said they may have been giving benton the out he needed to go to au. for a guy benton's age their depth chart just made more sense

here's my question. that situation is definitely possible, but this is what i'm wondering
is miles in on it also to protect benton?
the 2 major public comments miles made don't fall in line with that. why would miles have a tough decision to make if benton's mind was already made up to go to AU? why would miles say he yanked his scholarship after the fact?

he's been dealing with him for 2 years. Who knows what kind of relationship they've had. LSU has to play Auburn every year. No telling the backlash he's going to get when he comes to Baton Rouge and when he's in Bastrop?

well the comments miles made yesterday only work if either (1) he really did pull DBs scholarship for RR or (2) he's in on it with Mr. Randle and is trying to allow DB to go to AU with as little drama as possible
*ETA: DB not having a scholarship offer could make sense (luthur davis). but the "hard decision" doesn't. why would miles make a decision on DB if DB was goin to AU?
*ETA: also bradshaw has to be in on it to make the comments to the paper, but thats believable

imo, makes the most sense.
the only thing that doesn't make sense is that Benton hasn't answered calls to the media. Does it mean that he's pissed? Or are they coming up with a story?

With all of the reports that Benton quit last summer , sounds like they're relationship has been pretty rocky

Honest comment. I agree, folks need to let it rest until the whole story comes out. But, then that is not the nature of the internet.
