Martin might be WR6-WR7 in-state alone
Lester - did you watch any of the OT7on7 stuff from this weekend? I'll admit I've never sat there and watched any of this stuff live, but from what I saw, Martin was the best wide receiver on the field.

I'll admit I don't know the '25 recruting landscape in LA yet, but I can't beleive there's 5 WR better than him in the state.

Of course, I am basing this entirely on like 4 7 on 7 games

ETA: I think Harlem Berry could be WR1 in the state as well. Again, strictly based off of these 7 on 7 games. He could any and everything thrown his way.

I saw the highlight clips of underwood on Twitter but I generally hate 7 on 7 as an evaluation tool. I think the QBs in particular develop bad habits from it

For skill guys I don’t take much from it other then long speed, hands & ball tracking.

But I do after about Berry. He screams WR or CB

Check out Crown's post on Page 1. The tweet from Martin. He looks great.

Not to mention, Underwood and him had great chemistry. There was even a play where Underwood called Martin over pre play, changed his route, and went to him for a TD. If he's as good in pads as he is in 7 on 7, he's an absolute must take.

I thought I was the only one to see that man that’s crazy chemistry to say those guys never played together before this event.

I’ll watch later, and I’m not saying he won’t get an offer. But his offer list is weak compared to some of the in state guys barely getting attention from lsu

Idk, I don’t see it. He’s certainly a D1 player and makes some nice plays in 7 v 7 but all in all does not seem that dynamic even out of pads. If you are that size you have to be “different”.

I can’t find any verified track times but seems like he’ll have to make a living as a small slot.

If we could take 105 scholarship players this year he would easily be a tiger. It's not over yet wait to signing day.

I don’t believe Devonta Smith weighed much more than that and he turned out just fine at Alabama I’d say.

So he’s a backup plan in case they don’t get the players they really want?

I have no clue to be honest. They could take 2 or 3 more WRs for this clas. They could wait for portal to get 1 or 2 that has produce at college level.

SELU is a long way from an LSU offer. There are much better WR's in state that LSU is not even really recruiting because they are going for all these OOS 5 star WRs

Well, let him play a year or two at SELA. If he has something we grab him. So many kids develop at that age range.
So there are 1400 players better than him based on ranking? Damn

Not really fair to compare this kid to a Heisman Trophy winner and all-pro. Yes, Smith was small but it was pretty obvious watching him in high school that he was at a whole other level.

Agree with this. Most elite recruits were early bloomers. Some (a lot actually) end up being overhyped.

A lot of late bloomers never get a shot and are stuck in DIII, DII and FCS. They end up developing but were stuck until the Portal. USC plucked a kid this offseason from Tufts (DIII, an average DIII).

Zay Martin could easily add some weight, dominate at SELA and transfer to Baton Rouge in 2025 or 2026.

What I’m trying to say is there has been plenty of smaller dudes come into big conferences and succeed. And they weren’t even Heisman trophy winners.

Yes it is. His point was that a player can be great at that size, and he gave an excellent example. That’s the way logic, and argument, work.
