O expected 22, or 23 in the Early Signing Period

That was from the horse’s mouth on the LSU Coach’s radio show last night (answer to Ragoo).
The day/period is not over, but certainly a failure from his own expectation.
Positive spin:
-we still have Feb, transfer portal, and 2021 for ‘extra’ spots

And take a look at the list of commits. If the rest of them sign today, that would put us at 22. So, what's your point?

No the expected remaining signings put us at 19. He clearly expected Burch, Burton, and Jarrett to be signing. All didn’t.

Of the 6 left CamRon & possibly Burton and Lorando are not likely in this early period.

We need a stud rb badly. Jimbo has a ton of booster money to spend. It will be hard to overcome.

We don’t NEED to fill all 25. Just pointing out it certainly looks like O got played from his own expectations if there are no other huge surprises in this period.

I'm not concerned with undersigning. Losing Jarrett and possibly Burton together sucks tho.

I agree. Losing Burton (still in play) and Rak would hurt from what they could bring to the table. But LSU will be fine at that position.

I'm not worried about the talent we'll have at WR. Burch would've been a difference maker, but he was never at any point a sure thing for us. Plus the last time we had space left in a signing class we filled it later with a Heisman QB.

we are NOT signing all 4. Likely 2, maybe 3.
So what was once an OVERFLOWING class that required ‘processing’ has 4-6 ‘extra’ spots.
