That is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too optimistic when you failed to mention the most glaring flaws within our coaching staff...like a inexperienced QB, were exposed with them...

Good article
tidbit:
Perilloux—the most efficient passer in CFB this season with an incredible 172.40 rating and a 23-2 TD to interception ratio—finished his college career at Jacksonville State after he ran out of chances with coach Miles in the 2008 offseason.
Good for him, I didnt realize he had this great of a season.

No one can seriously challenge the simple fact that LSU would have been far more successful these past two years if our Ryan Perrilloux hadn't forced Miles' hand.

Except for the people who worship the previous coach, and have nothing but hatred and disdain for our current, very successful (yet flawed) head coach.
They challenge this notion all the time.

With Perrilloux, we would have had AT LEAST two more wins in each of the past two seasons. He had to go, but losing him certainly did cost us (and him).

Ya know. I roam the boards and have been getting so discouraged by what everyone writes. Thank god I just happened to click on that link. That is what being a true tiger fan is about! I have a renewed excitement about my tigers and again can't wait for August! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!

I wish Mile's was tough enough to handle him but then that would take disipline, something we don't see much of

I remember reading a long article in the Advocate about the situation and the way Miles handled it when Perrilloux was canned. I was very impressed with the way Miles handled the situation; he gave Perrilloux all the opportunities in the world to get himself straightened out but, in the end, decided that keeping him would hurt the program. The fact that Miles kicked Perrilloux off the team knowing it was going to create a huge hole at QB and completely sabatoge the Tigers' chances of defending their national championship indicates that he was more interested in the long-term health of his team than in immediate success. That tells me something important about the man's character and his priorities.

Amen to that and I hope more people come to that same conclusion and put value on having coaches with great moral character.

The real Miles is 2009 Bonehead Miles. You can't change a dogs spots or his "want".
