What an abjunct failure by O and Cregg yet again in recruiting the Oline.

I'll preface by saying I am happy all of our starters are returning but the limited class from 2020 and now 2021 will cause headaches down the road.

Why can't we consistently recruit multiple 5* hell 4* O line guys like Bama, OSU, Clemson, UGa, OU?

This is coming off a national championship year and our Oline winning the Moore award as best unit.

The fact we have starters returning is amazing but if we lose veteran guys to the portal filling it in with JUCOs isn't going to glue everything together.

Putting all the eggs in the basket on Leigh was retarded - outside of Byrd where were other quality lineman in our recruiting efforts?

The transfer portal and the fact that our entire OL is coming back does play into this year’s class.

I somewhat agree but let's see what the portal brings. As of now, this is it:

Dellinger - very good OT prospect, future LT for us and NFL offensive line level talent.

Kimo -
Average guard prospect, fairly high ceiling but also bust potential, pretty raw

That's it.

Hopefully we can do something in the portal because despite 2022 looking to be a great OL haul in recruiting, the 2022 roster will be very thin at the position.

I agree. The level of our OL is nowhere near where it needs to be. We should be signing 4/5 star players every year and stockpiling them so there will never be a drop off.

I agree that this topic has been beaten to death. However the op is right and the lack of getting linemen is killing LSU right now. It’s got to improve for LSU to compete.

Should have filled them in this year though. I get magicians point.

Yes we have the whole line coming back. But I want to recruit starter for 2023 this year, instead of having some true frosh start n 2023.

We needed another tackle and a guard and we wouldn’t have to recruit 5 ol for 2022.

False... most of our guys that are returning announced after the early signing period. Also, most of elite recruits won't be Day 1 starters at Clemson, Bama, and OU.

I'm glad we are starting 2022 off hot but it still won't address the 2020 and 2021 classes.

Time will tell if we have transfers out on the Oline this year.

Portal allows for a more mature player to step right in.

You have 10,093 posts, and I think roughly 10,000 of those are about the 2021 offensive line recruiting class.

Just fricking give it a rest man. We signed 2 great prospects this year. Is that less than we should have? absolutely.

We have the entire offensive line coming back, and we'll sign 5-6 offensive lineman next year. It's disappointing but not the end of the world, you massive pussy.

Just because you think LSU is the best thing ever created every kid thats unranked to 5 stars doesn’t want to come play for LSU. No matter if it’s O, cregg or frank Wilson Recruiting them. Everybody has a preference and a choice to go play wherever they want, stop always trying to blame somebody for something

Well we have 9 OL who will be listed as Freshmen (either by redshirting or last year not counting). Perry, Bradford, Thomas, Turner, Martinez, Hill, Dumervil, Dellinger and Makaneole. I am not saying we didn't need Leigh or another highly talented OL in the class, it is just not as dire as the numerous thread that beat this horse to death portray.
