he is a 17 year old kid...
In all honesty I think he's a pretty bright kid.

Stop trying to make something out of nothing.

quote:seriously? hes been a big time recruit since his sophomore year of high school. hes had ample time to pick a college, like 99.99999999% of recruits through the years. hes milking the attention. if not, he'd sign on the dotted line somewhere and the circus would go away. if he really didnt knwo where he wanted to go, he wouldnt have set a deadline, he would commit when hes ready. he wants the media salivating on march 15th, waiting om his decision
NSD is just the first day of the signing period that you can sign with your prospective university. You do not have to sign that day, and are under no obligation to

If this is true, then why did he go through all of the trouble of finishing high school early?
You ever think that maybe he just realized that Miami was not the place for him and he wants to look around.
Give him a break.

the 5 star, #1 ranking has blinded you from the red flags. if the ncaa decides the mentor thing is ok and if brown wants to be a contributing member of the LSU tigahs: i want him. but im not going to sit here and act like this kid is a sure-fire 3 year starter, heisman winner, and first rd draft pick- not after the cant miss prospect ryan perrilloux proved it takes more than god-given ability to succeed at this level. is it fair RP11 makes me more skeptical? no. but thats the nature of recruiting after one player's dismissal afftects a team like a certain 5* QB did.
im not saying this kid cant be great. he might: and if he comes here, i will cheer for him the best i can. ultimately, hes bringing baggage whether yall want to admit it or not.

quote:i never said he wasnt confused and maybe he wasnt sure. but him capping his recruitment a certain time leads me to believe hes got a better idea where he'll end up than hes letting on. i think if he were truely undecided, he would visit all places and make a decision when he was ready without a timetable
If this is true, then why did he go through all of the trouble of finishing high school early?

No, that's not it at all, I am just saying that this board gets a lot of things absolutely wrong by assuming things.
My dad always said "you know what happens when you assume? You make and arse out of U and ME"
It holds very true on this board.

his high school football coach- the guy whos spent countless hours with BB over the last 4 years- said brown wouldnt stretch with the rest of team and wouldnt play hard unless the play was for him. forgive me if after last years chemistry debacle, i see a this as a red flag

If you read the whole article, you would realize that his high school coach came off like a total douche rocket in that interview meaning 1 of 2 things.
The coach is a douche rocket who pissed Brown off and is now running a smear campaign on him.
or
The person writing that article wanted to make Brown/Brown's coach look bad.
Either way, I don't see that as substantial evidence. I don't know if you played high school sports, but I never knew any star player that didn't get along with his coach in high school.

quote:(i did play high school football in houston) and i agree with the above statement completely. thats why seeing BB's coach crackback him while walking out the door is so telling to me
but I never knew any star player that didn't get along with his coach in high school.
quote:this isnt the case. his coach made it perfectly clear in the article we are both thinking of that "the team chemistry was nonexistant." impossible to misconstrue that sentiment. and maybe his coach is an insufferable douche- but he still laid BB out on that blast
The person writing that article wanted to make Brown/Brown's coach look bad
would you agree that a prospect being described as:
quote:is a problem? (from a credible source)
wouldnt stretch with the rest of team and wouldnt play hard unless the play was for him

If I could be certain that there wasn't any bias or bad context on that quote, I would say that was an issue.

This kid is nothing but trouble. He is now attacking the football fans that are anxious for him to sign. On top of that if that wasn't already enough to pull the offer on a kid consider that his brother already plays for future cons of america, aka u of miami. Still not enough ammo to crusify this guy, has the gall to change his mind about miami. If that isn't the sign of him being part female I don't know what would be. You want more... OK he still hasn't decided where he wants to play. I mean come on how dare he take longer than everyone else to decide. Doesn't he know that this delayed action screws up the declaration of who got the number 1 recruiting class? I mean if that isn't worth 5-10 I don't know what is!
And I am sure after all of this overwelling substantial pile of evidence against him isn't enough then considering the fact that his arse hole coach made a negative comment about the kid won't change your mind either. I mean just because the coach has been fingered as a person with character issues himself doesn't mean we shouldn't bet our bottom dollar on what that loser says... right.
With this preponderance of evidence stacked against BB surely a conviction for armed robbery is right around the corner. I even heard he is closely related to RP!

impossible to misconstrue that sentiment
You might want to fix that.

quote:yet we agreed its very rare for a star high school player to not get along with his high school coach. potentially being a douche isnt enough to write off that kind of testimony

im not saying i dont want the kid. i cant say if he picks us, i wont be happy. im saying this guy brings problems with him, plain and simple

I think that he is talking about his life pre-signing day during his high school season relative to the free time now.

If him commiting to LSU takes away anything from this great class we signed, I say we wait until next year and get a few RB's then. The guy from Georgia seems interested.
I'm not saying he's bad, I'm saying we shouldnt disrupt what seems to be an almost perfect class with distractions and this seems to be a distraction.
