North Louisiana recruiting is starting to pay dividends. Difference makers at DE Lawrence, MLB White, and CB Williams. Not to mention freshman MLB#23 and #1 WR in the country. Mix that in with South Louisiana and out of state hand picked players you have depth. But the gains recently made in North Louisiana is paying off.

Being from the 318, LSU is always better when they have the top kids from the Yankees along I-20.

In my lifetime, the two best were probably Bert Jones and James Britt. Michael Brooks, Toby Caston, Wendell Davis and Andrew Whitworth not being too far behind.

Bradie James, Jacob Hester, Mo Claiborne, Greedy, rashard Lawrence, booger McFarland, Shaq White are more recent studs from North LA. There are too many good players from the top half of the state to let go other places.

Any sophomore DL/LBs in Shreveport or Monroe worth keeping an eye on?

North LA has always been important to LSU and still is. Some great players from up there and I'd say better quality of player but more quantity down south and still good quality too.

I hope the State starts producing good quality QBs and OTs very soon. I think it will always produce DBs, RBs, WRs and DLman. May have a down year here or there but will always produce these in quality and numbers. LB/QB/OL/TEs is always more of a struggle but most of the time these positions are produced in North LA for some reason, so yes we need N LA to be a complete team IMO.

Would be nice to start keeping every top recruit we want from the State while also being able to go just about anywhere and cherry pick top recruits from other states as well. I think we can get to that point and I also think Ed O is just better at spotting the no doubt recruits. Whether they be 3*/4*/5*. He's extremly good at spotting dominant players and who are great depth guys with 5* potential with some training.

I love where we are headed!! GT

West Monroe has a junior DE namec Dontrell Cobbs that is about 6'4" 230 and is very similar athletically to Scott out of Ferriday. I expect his recruiting to shoot thrpugh the roof after the season commences.

Glad someone realizes this. Too often on this board N. LA gets disrespected by the elite Baton Rouge area know-it-alls. Seems they feel that us poor white trash up north who did not attend LSU and belong to one of the elite fraternities, we're unworthy.

All the previous bashing by those I mentioned can't come to grips with how many Baton Rouge or New Orleans recruits go elsewhere.

When LSU signs N. LA recruits, they usually make a pretty big splash.

But but North Louisiana is South Arkansas or East Texas. Just imagined the kids heard this and decided to go to Tech?
