re: No ND Kids?

I think this situation is more practical in nature than most of you are making it out to be. I don’t think Kelly will chase anyone who is committed to ND. Why bother? Why spend the time on guys spread out across the US who don’t have any relationships here other than him. What are chances we get any of them? If we were in the same boat as USC or UF, sure, but we aren’t. This class has a lot more potential upside at the moment than theirs do.
If anyone decommitts from ND, or if they haven’t committed yet, they are fair game and I think Kelly and our staff would at least consider chasing them. They would have a much better shot at pulling them than someone already committed who still has their position coach at ND. There will also be more time to spend doing this for anyone remaining after ESD.
For now, I just don’t see any mystery here. LSU’s class has a solid core Kelly and staff seem focused on holding that together, as well as working to pull a few high profile long-time targets in with them. When it comes to prioritizing the use of time, this seems like a no-brained.
Now it looks like they are also offering several 2nd tier, but solid looking, LA prospects to go with them. Just look at the odds we have of getting these guys on board when we desperately need numbers and players who will stick around. It looks to me like the staff is just playing the percentages and doing the smart thing here.

Isn't it kind of surprising that we aren't getting any ND kids at all?
I figured one or two of their commits would want to follow the winningest coach in school history and not a coach that has never been a head coach before.
With where LSU is right now, I think the correct strategy is to sign as many LA young men that you project can play in the upper echelon of the SEC. With current culture that LSU has relative to the last two years of Coach O's tenure and this transfer portal, sign these kids from LA, those that can contribute hit the field next year, those that can't take a RS year and let this new SC team develop them. These kids are not likely to hit the portal after 1 year.
I am just looking at Allen (0.8817 rated *** and Ibieta (0.8655 ***) on 247 composite and now Danny Lewis the TE from Westgate, also a *** on 247 composite, but significantly underrated at 0.8559.
The former staff did not offer, 2 of the 3 above already got offers from Kelly and I think one for Lewis is coming fast, if not already.

I think someone said earlier that CBK won’t poach ND commits
That was a direct quote from Kelly.

Man, I noticed that too, and to make it worse...not a single player from Grand Valley, Central Michigan or Cincinnati followed him to LSU. Telling!

On top of that, we don’t know who he’s going to hire for coordinators yet. What a disaster this is

I don't see anyone on their list of commits that even visited LSU. Nearly every commit was recruited by Freeman or Rees who are both still there.
I'm not surprised at all that their commits are all solid. The assistants are usually who establish the strongest bonds with recruits, not the HC. If Freeman, Rees or both had come, then I bet some of them would've come as well.

Show me all the 22 Oklahoma recruits that followed Lincoln to usc
Or the 23 recruits that followed him that were not from southern Cali

Wasn't this the reason he left ND because he couldn't win championships with that talent? Now you want him to bring that talent to LSU?
