I get that his film is legit and so is his competition but has RN ever camped anywhere?

I know we always have the "We didn't want him anyway" tards come out after we don't get a recruit, but if this is how it will go down, then it's legitimate in this case.
This! So Dabo is letting this 18 year old kid literally take over his recruiting decisions in Clemson while he's not even enrolled yet? I have a strong feeling this is gonna end up ugly one way or another. Even if Nkemdiche does stay in Clemson because Dabo offered all his high school boys, what is Dabo gonna do when he wants more influence after he joins the team? Is Dabo gonna promise to put all of Nkemdiche's boys into starting lineup to prevent him from transferring?

so I guess the question is, if Dabo puts his foot down and RK leaves, do his other friends lose their scholarships?
That's a good question! Will he do?

If Clemson doesn't offer Carter then all 5 will switch to Ole Miss who is desperate enough to be a part of this debacle.
Its not really a debacle.
The RB would be in the rotation at Ole Miss. (he's the #26 RB in the USA)
The walk on is just a walk on where ever he goes.
The back up will be a back up until he is a senior.
does not seem like a bad deal for Ole Miss to get one premier player and also a decent RB, that they would have a couple of backups and a walk on.
I bet they would jump on it.

Setting aside all other considerations, what does this do to the Clemson program's image with other recruits?
What if you were already on the Clemson team and you saw this going on?
A VERY high price is being paid beyond mere scholarhsips and it will last for a few years...
Well said, sir!

How funny would it be if all this was plan by RN and he is going to have all his grayson friends send in the LOIs and then he send his in to LSU hahaha. He already said we were second so if friends weren't involved I would think he would be ours.

He hasn't. Pagano called him out on it saying he is overrated and that he won't camp.

Grayson's former Bama player coach-->
If he's lying about Clemson being first what makes you think he's not lying about LSU being second?

while i do think Pagano is a 'look like Tarzan, play like Jane' type of player in the making, i love this....
look, there's no denying Nkemdiche is a fast, big, strong, talented high school football player, but for any coach to put their program at risk by jeopardizing and essentially gambling with the very limited number of scholarships is crazy.... Dabo better know what he's doing, because even though they are recruiting well, they aren't exactly paying great dividends.... yeah, they did well last season, but they got their asses handed to them on the national stage by a barely above average West Virginia team to close out the season.....
i understand he's a good prospect, but to take on 3 or 4 other not so good prospects and essentially waste those spots that you could have gotten something of worth with those schollies, i just don't agree with....
perhaps other coaches saw the writing on the wall and wouldn't play that crap, so he decided on a school with a "yes man" at HC, feeling that he could line up a sweet deal for him and his friends.... i mean, Saban ain't gonna waste any scholarships..... Miles has to be very, very picky with our scholarships.... any other team out there puts a lot of thought and research into who gets offers/schollies... to be a push over and let the prospect dictate who gets them and who doesn't puts your entire program at risk for having a trough in the cycle that is college football..... nowadays, too much money on the table to self impose a trough....

i
I agree AND it get a lot worse than that. Let's say you are another player being recruited/on the team already. And you have/had a HS teammate you wished Clemson would have offered. I don't think they are going to GAS (give a SH--) that this player is supposedly really good. They are going to see guys LESS in quality than their own HS teammates who didn't get offered. Might want to put on the protective netting because you can easily stir up a hornet's nest doing crap like this.

Even worse (for Clemson) if I'm a current commit I start looking around. If they want a one man class they can fricking have it; if you're a high end player youre going to pick a college to try to win a championship not just to watch RN hang out with his buddies.

And now we get:
Robert Nkemdiche. RT @Robertusmagna_1: Man I don't like ajc twisting up my words.

I don't want to knock the kid but the reports of him getting manhandled in camp isn't making me too eager about fighting Florida off of him.

that's not knocking him, that's the facts.... he got handled..... is he a good prospect? sure.... is he very good on his high school team? absolutely.... i just don't see him being a force at the next level, and to be a DT in the SEC, you have to be a force....
star gazers will be all up in arms when we don't land him, mark my words.... but those that actually follow recruiting, that have seen the kid outside of his rivals profile with the pretty 4 yellow stars will know we avoided a bust of a prospect....
IMO, go full bore with Gilmore, try to convince Vanderdoes his future is football, and keep Crayton on the leash as a back up.... Gilmore and Vanderdoes commit and/or sign, we are stacked.....

Update on Nkemdiche Frpm AJC
quote:
Then there’s LSU, which Nkemdiche listed as his runner-up when he committed to Clemson. LSU was Kamara’s initial dream offer, but it never happened. LSU appears to be a longshot at this point.
“It’s real out there at LSU but they didn’t have any of my boys going there,” Nkemdiche said. “I didn’t feel like I would fit in there.”
What if LSU suddenly offers Kamara? “I don’t think it will change my mind at this point,” Nkemdiche said. “I feel like Clemson is the perfect fit for me for so many reasons. I hope they offer Ryan.”

I just caught the first couple of minutes of ESPN coverage of The Opening deal because quite frankly, I can't stand Luckingbill et. al. Having said that, I will give them credit for talking about the Nkemdiche package deal and saying "this is really over the line." For ESPN who worships HS players to actually come out and say this on a show just tells everyone how ridiculous this deal is.
I hope that LSU doesn't get involved with Nkemdiche again even if he becomes available. It is fine to give a positive opinion about a HS teammate and to have loyalty to him. To start hunting around for scholarship offers in a time of 25 limit, that is nonsense. Once again, all this deal is going to do is make other Clemson hopefuls mad, some of the current players unhappy, and also in the future, guess what is going to happen.
"Oh, well last year you were willing to give Nkemdiche's teammate an offer who really didn't deserve one, so I guess you won't mind doing it for me also. I have a teammate who I'm friends with at my HS. He gets an offer right if I commit?"
