Switzer ran a 4.6 40. Alex would out catch Nelson any day of the week. Great comeback? CHS only had like 100 total yards in tht game.
I was at the Rivals Camp last year and have personally timed Nelson and Switzer. Nelson is solid 4.6 and faster. I know you are related and Switzer is a great kid, but he runs 4.75...at NUC his fastest was 4.76. Nelson is a college receiver and possible defensive back. Nelson earned his place in the recruiting databases and in College Football. I also saw 10 Catholic games in person (and all on film). Nelson ran Switzer down from behind when they played. Also, Catholic was down to Acadiana in the quarterfinals 28-7 and came back and won 34-28 in a TREMENDOUS COMEBACK! Catholic passed alone for 222 yards vs. Acadiana and ran the ball ok too. How do you think Denham will do next year?

Im a senior but i think they will make another trip to the playoffs. We have alot of skill positions returning but we also lost alot on D. I don't think we make it past the first round.
. You also have to look at it this way David Bell was not as good as Zack Oliver. I agree with you on the fasters part but alex had more yards in the regular season.

Your pretty much being a dick. There is really no place to talk about Nicholls football and it still is a Louisiana school. Most people care about where local kids go to get a free education and compete in sports at the next level.
You didn't have to read this post.

Live Oak will really miss Bell and Switzer. Wihout their connection on 49 passes, probably 0-10 last year. The pass set up the run in some games and the offense in others. Both great athletes and holders now of numerous records? How do you think LO, Denham and Walker do next year? LO loses QB, WR, Center, TE, etc. Denham loses a lot everywhere.

Well i think denham makes the playoffs but it could just be my love for denham talking? Live Oak i think does about the same but maybe alittle wrost or alittle better and walker is walker they're gonna do the same thing they do every year.
Denham 7-3
Live Oak 3-7
Walker 2-8
Denham 7-3
Live Oak 3-7
Walker 2-8

Who is the favorite to start at QB with the new offense?
Posted on 3/6/10 at 4:06 am to John Doe
they are switching from a triple option to a spread offense, so the qb position could be wide open, i assume

Yeah I knew they were making the swap.
Excited to see the changes. Long overdue I think. Just wasn't sure if Caston was going to be the favorite or what. I don't follow nicholls as much as I used to. Hopefully Hebert can come in and challenge for the starting spot.

Of course Hebert is the most hyped because of his dad and the type of publicity he could generate, but its wide open. Stubbs seems like the kind of guy that doesn't care about all that stuff. He is going to play the best guy. Nicholls should be fun to watch with the type of knowledge this guy has. Stubbs is also a published author, having two books published titled "Wide Open Football" and "Developing an Explosive Offense." His third book, "101 Special Plays and Playmakers," is due for release in January 2010.

You probably are a great kid and good sports fan, but don't rip high school kids who had great careers and will play NCAA ball. I saw your above posts about Oliver and in this thread you cut Nelson and Bell. Come on now!
Brad is a top high school athlete with heart who will play NCAA football. He is a leader and a class act. He also excels at basketball and could have exceled at any sport he liked at the 5A level. He will excel in the slot or out wide in Nichols spread and again, can play DB.
Zack has had two good years at QB at the 5A level and will continue to improve. He is smart, coachable, 6'4" with a very good arm and underrated athleticism. His arm may be eite next year. He has 3 NCAA football offers and will get more. He may get one or more SEC offers. I am confident he will be a top 2 or 3 QB from LA in the 2011 class. That sums him up enough, but I try to be fair and am not related to him as has been claimed on here. His speed is about 5.0 in 40 and he did take some sacks. What will matter is his elusiveness in the pocket, ability to buy time, etc. and he needs to work on this, which he has been very hard. His receivers have been better than the guys covering them, except against Central and West Monroe (both bad losses)....we need to see how he does next year with less around him. We also need to see how tough he is game after game with less of a line in 2010. My guess is that he will prove to be very tough and will be quicker and more elusive next year too. Why do people at Denham dislike Catholic so...Catholic is all class. The coaching staff is stable, the kids are promoted, etc, etc, etc. Some good Liv Parish boys go to Catholic too.
Bell at Live Oak did more with less around him than any QB I have seen and has not only leadership ability, very good athleticism, very good quickness in the pocket, and a very strong accurate arm; he has great mental and physical toughness which can't be coached. No one he played with at LO will sniff college football, his line left him scrammbling constantly and his skill guys got poor separation, few yards after catch and had lots of drops, yet he hung tough and got Dividion I & II NCAA offers, COMING OUT OF LIVE OAK. He had 4 head coaches in 4 yrs. He is probably only the 2nd LO player to ever go play NCAA ball (definitely first skill player) and perhaps the most highly regarded QB in Liv Parish in decades. By comparison, about 4-5 each year at Catholic go to the NCAA. I saw the LO-Catholic game and Bell WAS the LO running game and threw for over 200 yds, when the Bears entire plan had been to stop him. His speed got around the corner in the option, he scrammled well and he threw what should have been 4-5 TD passes, but officially only threw 1, which was thrown into the end zone. I seriously don't think there were more than 10 yac the entire game. His receivers got out athleticized for perfect balls twice for pics, got caught and fumbled on the Catholic 20 after a catch that should have been a TD and fell down right after a 40 yard ball that should have been Td. What will help Bell the most is that he can lead a team on long drives which he had to do at LO....other QB's could all throw short balls to college caliber receivers who would take it 70 yds.....and he can operate under center, in the gun and I noiced LO literally ran about 8 diferent sets and never the same formation twice. It did look like he locked in on Switzer sometimes, but he didn't have time and Switzer was clearly his best option. He is a 4.8-4.99 guy, so won't run as much in college, but can when he has to due to real good quickness. Like Brad, a real good basketball player too. Bell will shine in college with talent around him, as he did in the Red Stick Bowl, when probably for the first time in his life, he actually had a pocket to throw from.
Ironically, I think Bell works out now with Brad and Zack and anothar boy you really need to watch, Stevie Douglas.....he alreay has an elite level college arm, just needs to face some 4A or 5A competition this year, which is another thing, the lower classifications don't compare in quickness of the game.
In addition to Brad, Scelfo from St. Mikes is going to Nichols and he will bulk up and become a good college TE and/or H-back.
In the 2011 class Zack and Stevie will likely end up two of the top 3-4 recruited QB's in th State. Watch for Stevie, especially if he gets to play at Central.

I really don't know what you are attempting to put into sentences here.

I heard the the new coach has a D-1 QB who may tranfer after the semester is over. He can't say now until school lets out.I guess we can wait and see.
